Oh dear... proof he didn't deserve the WC Frown

Although I'm glad he got the opportunity.

Yeah, learning from your mistakes and all, and it is experience for him?
Did he get one for Wimbledon?

I don't think we know yet but apparently it's extremely unlikely and after this, even more unlikely.

I was reasonably happy with the way I played. I was a bit unsure of what it was going to be like. It’s good to get a match before the doubles, hit a lot of serves, a lot of returns, getting used to moving forward, so it was worthwhile.

The thing I struggled with most was serving, coming forward and having to cover the whole court instead of one half of it. That was a bit strange but apart from that it wasn’t too bad

Doubles is where I make my career from. This is a big tournament for us, we’re looking forward to playing here and trying to win some matches before Wimbledon obviously.

I’d love to play Wimbledon. It would be very exciting to play in the tournament there and if I get the opportunity I would be very, very grateful.

It was quite clear Jamie wasn't in the same league as Slabs, Bloomers and Ward.  I really hope he doesn't get in Wimbledon qualies as well.

Id like to see Jamie play play one of the brits mentioned before making such judgements. Im sure he could have had a singles career at a similar level to those guys. He struggled with th unfamiliarity more than anything it seems.

Top singles players can walk into doubles tournaments so i reckon a country's top doubles player who won a grandslam on grass should occasionally be allowed a WC for a qualifying tournament. The other brits have done not much more than he has to earn it to be honest.
