Best of luck to Jamie and John for tomorrow. goodjob

Here's some pics of them (with Jarkko Nieminen) at cooking class a couple of days ago. Looks like they had a good laugh.

Thanks Linda.  I really like seeing players enjoying themselves like that, and showing everyone that they're human beings and not just tennis machines.

Good luck to Jamie and John from me too!

They have just won 6:3, 3:6, 10:6. Congratulations to them. Their 3 title this year, and their 3rd as a team. Good to see Jamie having some success again.

Well done lads!

They've just won 6-3 3-6 10-6

I'm so pleased that this partnership is working out so well for Jamie and John.  It makes all the difference.

Is there any slight chance of these two or Fleming and Marray getting to the O2?  I know that they are both playing again this  coming week but have they enough time to get into top eight? Before this week I see that they were 16th but it looks very tight in the rankings below the top ten. Position 8 seems out of reach. Perhaps by winning all their next tournaments and hoping that the others have a bad month? Ever the optimist!

Well played J2 in Thailand.

The chances are slim, but still possible.  I'm not sure what their scheduling is for the rest of the year, nor that of their rivals.  I'm not even sure if all of their competitors are still active doubles partnerships who would be hoping for a place at the tour finals.

This is how the doubles race looked on Monday.  Jamie and John will be able to add 250 points, but not sure about those around them.

Fleming and Marray are a bit lower down, but a couple of good runs could put them within touching distance.

Considering the problems they face entering the Masters Series tournaments, they've done really well, and it doesn't seem fair to have them competing against guys who are close in doubles rankings, but can enter any tournament they fancy.

This partnership seems to have cemented well. I assume that they are planning to keep together in 2014? If they end up in top 32 individually in the doubles rankings at the end of the year and have some success beyond to keep them at that sort of position does that give them clout to make entries grand slams and masters events more certain?

I'm not sure exactly how it works, and there seems to be a fair bit of jiggery-pokery when it comes to doubles rankings and entries.  I do know that the higher you are ranked, the easier it is, so clearly that helps, but there can be tournaments like the Rogers Cup, where Fleming and Marray couldn't enter, but Fleming could enter with Andy, despite his lower doubles ranking.

In some ways it's good for doubles that it is made easy for top singles players to enter, but leaves uncertainty for doubles specialists, who get pushed out at the last minute.  I think that's fine if the singles player properly commits to the tournament, like Andy did in Canada, and they proved themselves worthy by reaching the final.  Unfortunately, it's fairly common to see withdrawals from doubles and you wonder if they ever intended to take it seriously.

I am really pleased for him and John Peers. Jamie M is unwavering in his support for Mr M. One of the positives about Mr Mr being out is it gives the other British players a chance for some headlines, particularly the male ones.

Is it just me or does Sky Sport seem to have bailed out of showing tennis completely in the absence of Mr M?

Um, they are brothers. I would expect Jamie's support of his brother to be nothing less than unwavering.

Given when they were young Jamie was the better tennis player I believe, and they were fiercely competitive as boys, not too mention that Mr M has eclipsed Jamie's not inconsiderable achievememts, then a measure of jellousy and sour grapes wouldn't be totally surprising. It is to Jamie's credit that there has never been any sign of it.
