Good news! This takes them to 10 in the race, ahead of Benneteau & Zimonjic who they were tied with on points.

They play Neuchrist & Thiem next, Austrian wildcards, who beat Kohly & Daniel Brands in R1

Very short piece on Jamie giving credit to (Canadian ) Louis Cayer for being the brains behind his improvement.
http://www.thetennisspace.com/jamie-murray-louis-cayer-deserves-more-respect/

(Background info...Cayer helped Andy come back from his 2007 wrist injury):

Q. When you're in London, do you still work a bit with Coach Louis Cayer, who is from here and worked a bit with you two years ago when you came back when you were injured?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, I haven't done any work with him for about a year and a half now, but I spent I spent quite a bit of time with Louis, did some work at the beginning of last year and towards the end of 2007 when I was coming back from my wrist injury, because, you know, it was a pretty tough time for me.
Again, it was just nice to have sort of different input, you know, different things to work on in practice to keep you motivated, because I couldn't really play that well because my wrist was still hurting me when I came back. He's a very, very experienced coach.

The Skupski brothers, in their first main ATP tournament together, are leading 7-6 4-0 v top seeds Mirnyi & Tecau in Moscow.

A win for them would be good news for Jamie & John, as M & T are currently 9th in the race, just 205 points ahead

Update - that didn't take long! Skupksis win 7-6 6-1 Good work!

In Vienna, where J & J are 4th seeds, the no 2 seeds Fystenburg & Matkowski have been knocked out in R2 by Levinsky & Pavic. F & M are currently 8th in the race, so again it's good news for J & J who have a chance to close the gap.

Here is the link to Steven's table again http://www.britishtennis.net/gbtop25m/2013race.htm

Paes & Stepanek are in a similar situation to Marray & Nielsen last year - qualification to WTF guaranteed by winning a slam, not playing tournaments together and slipping down the rankings.

Thanks for the updates.  It gets complicated when the different pairings are in different tournaments.

Oddly this match follows on from Tsonga v Thiem. I suppose they wanted Tsonga for the night match and can't make Thiem play doubles before. Busy evening for him.

Jamie & John (10th in race) play Benneteau & Zimonjic (11th in race) in Valencia tomorrow.

J & J won 6-4 6-2 when they met in Shanghai, so hope they can do the same here! Tough draw for them though

Most of the top 20 teams are playing Valencia or Basel this week 1,2 4, 5, 10, 11 ,12 in Valencia, 6,8,9, 13,14,16, 17 (Colin & Ross), 19 & 20 in Basel
