Nice to see Kim being recognized for the part she plays-she's as much a part of 'Team Murray' as anyone.Though I'm sure nobody recognizes that more than Andy!http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/kim-could-be-set-to-become-andy-1320388
Glamorous Kim is Andy's confidante, friend, partner and even does his laundry
WHILE Andy's mum and mentor, Judy, remains a loyal supporter, it looks as though she has passed his girlfriend Kim the baton of leading lady in her son's life.
AS Andy Murray basks in his Grand Slam glory today, he will be doubly grateful for his most perfect match to date – girlfriend Kim Sears.
Every dropped point, every ace, every winning volley was reflected in her face as she sat through five nail-biting hours.
She was there to share his triumph but, had victory eluded him, the 25-year-old artist would, as always, have picked up the pieces.
In the lows, she has comforted him and in the highs, celebrated with him.
In his Wimbledon defeat, she shed tears and at the Open, she punched the air in ecstasy.
Kim is Andy’s confidante, his friend, his partner – and there are rumours that next year, she will become his wife.
Sports psychologist Roberto Forzoni, who worked with Andy for the Lawn Tennis Association, said: “It would not surprise me in the least to see him marry Kim.
“She has brought him a calmness off-court and helped him to settle down. She is the rock behind his success. She is someone Andy can rely on – she has always been a shoulder for him to lean on in the hard times.
“She is now enjoying the best time of his life with him and I can see exactly what Judy means about her being the best thing that ever happened to him – they are a perfect match.”
While Andy’s mother and mentor, Judy, remains a stalwart supporter, there’s little doubt that the baton of leading lady has been passed to Kim.
The two women were pictured together at the US Open in raptures at his win.
But Judy wasn’t in the States for all his games as she once would have been – and Kim was in the front row of Team Andy’s seats for the final match.
Judy has spoken fondly of Kim and perhaps feels that it is time she give her son’s girlfriend the place she has earned.
They are very different characters – Judy a tigress when it comes to her son while Kim is softer – but both are equally invested in Andy’s happiness.
Judy has credited Kim with being a steady hand. “She even does his laundry,” she laughed. Andy’s form dipped when they split up a few years ago and he has admitted that Kim’s presence in the stand makes him “calmer”.
In recent years, there has been less of the melodrama seized upon by detractors such as Virginia Wade and John McEnroe.
Kim’s father Nigel is a tennis coach, so she has been weaned on the game and she understands the mental and physical demands and the sacrifices required.
It was her dad who encouraged her to pursue a career she loved and the devoted animal lover recently set up a business painting pets. Her work is accomplished and she has more commissions than time.
Kim studied literature after getting three straight As at A level. She has disdain for Fifty Shades of Grey but loves Jilly Cooper and fancies writing a novel.
No WAG of the Coleen Rooney ilk, there will be no Asda adverts, TV shows, perfumes and fashion ranges for Kim. When she was asked if she would ever go down that road, she said: ”No. Sorry. It’s not about me, it’s about Andy.”
Kim’s mix of designer and high street fashion makes her more effortlessly glamorous than glitterati.
Inevitably, the luscious locks and her understated class have drawn comparisons with Kate and Pippa Middleton – but if anyone is competing, it certainly isn’t her.
She shares a £5million mansion with Andy and they lead a quiet life, ambling around the local area with their beloved dogs Rusty and Maggie May.
They live in Surrey, not far from Sussex where Kim grew up.
Andy once said he’d save his dogs before Kim if the house went on fire – but he was only joking ... she hopes.
She seems unfazed by his foot-in-mouth issue and didn’t even react when he insisted marriage wasn’t on the cards.
Andy famously told interviewer David Frost: “No, not yet. No matter how much she is pushing me. I haven’t fallen for it yet.” But recently he changed his response to: “We’ll see.”
In her blog, Kim comes across as girly, youthful, down to earth but with an inner dreamer.
Like Andy, family is everything and she has said she wants to settle down and have children.
She said: “In another life, I want to be a country music superstar. I can’t sing at all but love the music and all the values it represents. I think there’s something old-worldly and wonderful about those ideals. Plus, I really like cowboy hats.”
In her office hangs the dried remains of the Olympic bouquet Andy won after taking gold on the Centre Court at Wimbledon, because “it was so beautiful I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away”.
It’s one of the only comments that alludes to Andy and when she referenced her trip to New York, she talked about visiting her brother Scott who is studying international relations in the city.
And the highlight of her year? Not the Olympics or the US Open but the Lewes firework display, near where she grew up.
(I know there's bits about Andy possibly marrying Kim,so I debated whether to post it in the wedding thread, but really it's more about their life and how she's always supported him,so I stuck it in here)
