Andy Murray’s girlfriend Kim Sears is talented artist who paints portraits of couple
She has even recreated the moment they passionately kissed after Andy won his first tennis title in 2006
Tennis ace Andy Murray’s girlfriend Kim Sears has a secret hobby – painting loved-up portraits of the couple.
Gifted artist Kim, who has been dating the British No 1 for seven years, has even recreated the moment they passionately kissed after Andy, 26, won his first tennis title in 2006 .
The painting of that moment in San Jose, California, hangs on the wall of her parents Nigel and Leonore Sears’ home.
Tennis pundit Andrew Castle, 48, who is a close friend of the Sears family, exclusively told the Sunday Mirror about Kim’s artistic tributes to her sportsman other half.
Speaking at the BNP Paribas Hurlingham Tennis Classis in west London, Andrew said: “I went to dinner to her parents house and one of her paintings was on the wall and it was really lovely.
“It was of Andy and Kim after he won his first title in San Jose and it was fantastic, very sweet.
“She’s a wonderful painter, very vibrant. She takes commissions and does very well from it from what I understand.”
Supportive Kim, 25, is a permanent fixture court-side at US Open champ Andy’s matches but was initially thought to have struggled with the attention that came with dating the Scotsman.
She promotes her art on a website, stating that she specialises in animal portraiture, but does now showcase any of her paintings of Andy.
Andrew said: “Kim has grown up with Andy so she now understands the pressure of the celebrity side.
“She also understands the balance between the celebrity side and the sporting achievement side but it was important to her to have her own life and achievements.
“Painting is very important to her.
“She wanted to be an actress at one point and there was a time she did a week’s internship at GMTV. She’s not afraid of hard work, I tell you.”
Meanwhile World No 2 Andy, gunning for his first Wimbledon title this year after his heartbreaking loss to Roger Federer in 2012, has remained coy on rumours that the pair are set to get engaged.
When asked in April last year if they were getting married, he joked: “No, not yet. No matter how much she is pushing me. I haven’t fallen for it yet.”
But former GMTV presenter Andrew suggested the couple may be waiting for luxury hotel Cromlix House in Stirlingshire, Scotland, near his hometown of Dunblane, that he acquired earlier this year to be renovated and reopened in spring 2014 before they say ‘I do’.
He said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if one day soon they did. Andy’s brother Jamie was married there and that would be a fitting venue as he does own it!”http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/tennis/andy-murrays-girlfriend-kim-sears-1982665?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
