Yes, they separated when Andy and Jamie were quite young I think.

THE SUNDAY MAIL ARTICLE: Hmm - I've read far worse and it's nice to hear from Andy's Dad for a change. He hasn't disclosed anything much that I haven't heard before - either from indepth articles or Andy's book. Sounds like a really decent chap too and expresses little real animosity. Andy has such excellent support emotionally, both from his parents and Kim and a super team for his training etc. Even Dad says he hasn't reached his peak - so I feel we're into watching an ever improving Andy go for gold.

I think the blue things are meant to be fire proof. They might also be for comfort. Think  The F1 drivers wear them as well.
