Cmon Andy! If you told me 5yrs ago that we would have a scottish tennis player favourite for the Oz open this yr, i would have walked you too the hospital myself. Fed... Slam master,  Rafa... World no1,  Noel... Defending Champion,  Murray... Favourite lol.  How good must your current form be to seen as favourite in that company. Im counting every second waiting on next week. I thought about holding back from completely going over the top but i just cant see anyone stopping Andy next week, the only problem with that is.. the Oz open is where one of the guys you dont see comes from nowhere and storms the tourney as Andy will tell you. I believe that if the top 4 make it to the Qrts then its Andys first SLAM and thats why im confident. Either way.. win or loose these are good times Andy and good luck mate. SCOTLAND THE BRAVE!

What would be everybody's idea of a perfect 1st day on Rod Laver Arena. Be realistic i.e not having the big 4 all on the same day and as much as yoiu may hate it, they do have womens matches aswell on Laver.

Rod Laver Arena (11am start)

1.    Casey Dellacqua V Melanie South
2.    Rafael Nadal(1) V Ernests Gulbis
3.    Andy Murray(4) V Marcos Baghdatis

Rod Laver Arena (7.30pm start)

1.    Jelena Jankovic(1) V Anne Keothavong
2.    Andy Roddick(7) V Lleyton Hewitt

1. Guccione V Federer (Gooch could win)
2. Murray V Spadea (Hopefully will be finished before school)
3. Stosur V South (Could be the match to get Mel in top 100)

Evening

1. Jankovic V Keothavong (Only way I think Anne will get on Laver Arena)
2. Hewitt V Bogdanovic (Hewitt might get injured and reitre)

I'd love if Andy got a night time match with Hewitt, a potential banana skin but my god, the atmosphere.  Little tongue man

Oh can I enter this please Smile

I'll be in Rod Laver for this so lets see then. What do I want? Some good ideas so far but...

Rod Laver Arena (11am start)

1.    Casey Dellacqua V Anne Keothavong (Casey is playing poor at the moment and Annes in not too bad form)
2.    Andy Murray(4) V Some no mark qualifier (After lasts years disappointment, lets get an easy win Smile )
3.   Tsonga V anyone really.  (Watched all his matches live last year and he's a beast of a player)

Rod Laver Arena (7.30pm start)

1.    Jelena Jankovic(1) V Melanie South (I'd prefer to see Ivanovic but I Sunniii  has put some thought into who will actually play.
2.    Rafael Nadal  V Lleyton Hewitt. Lets get real here. This would be a corking match up in Hewitt brings a decent game.

ps. If this does happen and you're all wondering what I look like, I'll be the one with the St Geoges cross flag, being escorted out by the stewards during the Casey/Anne match shouting "Come on Anne you can take out this Australian ******************** (insert some real bad stuff Smile )

thanks for the thought gjr.

not really sure the last match would be very comeptitive. Lleyton has no real weapons to trouble Nadal. I said Roddick v hewitt because i feel lleyton has the edge in groundstrokes. In fact i feel he has a bit more than an edge.

No worries.

Hewitt would probably give Roddick a better game than he would against Rafa.

Hewitt is without a shadow of any doubt though the most dangerous non seed in the draw. He won a couple of matches at the hopman cup but also lost to Blake. He's won a couple in Sydney so far and has Naldandian up next. Dave can be great or abject woeful so a win or a loss aginst him may not show Hewitts true form.

I've said elsewhere though that no-one would like to draw Hewitt first round, night match on Rod Laver. It appears he's injury free and his wife has given birth to their second child. So he's physically and mentally in good shape and you don't want to be the one that draws him.

Yes i'd be pretty annoyed if Murray drew him. Id fancy murray but there certainly are easier draws.
