Andre Agassi - lost first three slam finals, eventually won eight
Ivan Lendl - lost first four slam finals, eventually won eight
Ilie Năstase - lost first two slam finals, eventually won two
Arthur Ashe - lost first two slam finals, eventually won three
Guillermo Vilas - lost first two slam finals, eventually won four

Thanks for sharing these cheerful statistics.

I believe this loss will only strengthen Andy's resolve and come back stronger to capture one of the remaining GSs of this year.

Only one player has won 5 MS before winning a Slam and that was Rios. Lendl would probably double that record if MS existed back then but the general theme's relevant, providing Murray's performance doesn't drop off a cliff like Rios did there's no reason to be particularly worried given his level of consistency outside Slams for the last 18 months.
