Having spent a lot of time in the Shetlands I have seen and heard Rock, Salt & Nails on numerous occasions...

They are a great live band, but unfortunately this isn't the best song/tune they ever came up with.

Good idea of frontman Paul Johnstone to come up with it at this time - brilliant marketing ploy -

Must have taken him all of 5 minutes to write it.

It's milk, honest.

It's catchy enough, of course I'm taking it on the premise that the band aren't taking themselves seriously with the song.

Exactly, I don't think they intend for this to be taken too seriously.

Mmm, think I like my song better. Came up with it after seeing an episode of a certain TV show and joining in a discussion on AM.com:

"I say Britain,
You say talent.
Britain's got talent.
He's called Andy."

I don't think it's quite as catchy as the original Andy Murray song... Smile

How about adapting a good song for the occasion?  I'll start...

Sets on fire

Play where you're playing
Don't make a sound
I know they're watching
they're watching

All the commotion
the kid's lovely play
has people talking

You... Your sets are on fire

The dark of the night's queue
The break of the day
Your forehands are driving
They're driving

Soft grip is open
Our knuckles are pale
Looks like you're flying
You're flying

You... Your sets are on fire
And so... were the words to transpire

Shots in a fever
Rattle our bones
Your first serve don't waste it
Waste it

But it's not forever
But it's just two weeks
You could be the greatest
The greatest
The greatest

You... Your sets are on fire

I served an ace

This was always the way I planned, my clear intention
I got so brave, ball in hand, all concentration
It's now what I'm used to, just wanna serve this out
I'm serious for sure, caught your attention

I served an ace and I liked it
The sound of a broken racquet
sent up a lob just to try it
I hope my coach don't mind it

It looked so wrong, but felt so right
Must mean I'm doing somthing right
I won the match and I liked it
I liked it

No, I don't even know your name, it doesn't matter
You're my experimental game, just cannon fodder
There's nothing you can do, no way you can reply
Your head gets so confused, and I destroy you

I kicked your ass and I liked it
The taste of complete victory
I trampled you just to try it
I hope the crowd don't mind it

It felt so wrong, it felt so right
Beat Rog and Rafa any night
I'm kicking ass and I like it
I like it

These shots they are so magical
Soft hands, drop shot, so missable
Hard to resist, so beautiful
Too good to deny it
It ain't no big deal, I'm just the beeeeest

I won the match and I liked it... etc etc

Very good, Charlie! Is it just prose or is it set to a piece of music?

I'm afraid you're showing your maturity a bit there, Jan sorry It's based on a song by Katy Perry (although if I'm honest about it I only know it because it's on one of my kids' cds... old)
