Another learning curve for Andy. Knowing to read what your body is saying. Sounds like bad coaching to me, but then Andy is very much is own boss and will do what he wants come what may.

My thought is that the injuries he's had over the last month or so are caused through tiredness. This is a classic case of carrying on when your body is telling you to stop and rest.....He carried on through sheer will power...not always wise.

...at least I hope that's what it is and not that he has a natural inclination to injury, which could mean that he could end up being a talent unfulfilled.... Smile

I do think it was a bad decision for Andy to enter this Challenger - and I'm convinced he entered it reluctantly anyway.  We're going to have to get used to the unexpected from Andy though because as you rightly say, he'll ultimately do what he wants and won't give a damn what anyone thinks.  His character is a double edged sword - it gives him immense strength, but I really hope it doesn't become his undoing through being too stubborn.  I don't really think so - he's young and headstrong but that will settle in time.  His achievements to date are quite remarkable - here's to many more in the future Smile

And that's what we like about him, but to get to the very top, you will have to be able to take advice from others, in certain aspects of your game. It's like fine tuning a racing car, to get the maximum out of it. There are many astute people out there willing to help though. He has taken his doctor's order, so that's a good sign.

Yes David, that's exactly what I mean about his character.  He will have to realise that he is not always right and listen to others who he'll have to concede, know better - something I think Andy will not find easy.  However, I believe this has a lot to do with his being 18.  However, the next few months will be pretty crucial in how it all pans out for him.
