Won't really come as a surprise if true.

I see Fed is being non-commital about Bercy, saying he will see how he feels after Basel.

Just come across the same news on Neil Harman's twitter... *Fingers Crossed*... Waiting for official confirmation.... Sensible decision if true, Paris & WTF far more important..

Andy Murray - US Open and Wimbledon champion! :)

He's off the acceptance list for Basel so looks like he has withdrawn. It was always going to be tough playing 3 weeks in a row and hoping to do well at the WTF - Federer in all likelihood will skip Paris for the same reason.

Fed will no doubt make his displeasure known publicly, but will secretly be relieved he will not have to face his nemesis in front of his adoring fans on his home turf.

Do we know the reason for him pulling out? I certainly don't think he was right in Shanghai.

Well.. looks like it's definitely official.
It's out there in every language except English.

Citing the back, but I hope and suspect it's strategic.

Very much hope it is strategic, it didn't seem to be his back worrying him during Shanghai. Mind you he has had a hell of a year. I suspect he is a physical and mental wreck by now. After the WTF are over I hope we see him at the Albert Hall supporting Lendl.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a good idea. I mean if he wins he gains 500 points which could add to his chase to Novak. Besides he could still win Paris and WTF even if he does play.
