Good to see Delpo finally getting another win over Fed and beating him in his back yard.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Nice little speech from Fed in English. How's anyone's Swiss-German though!

Yep. Which is why I can't see him dropping out, especially not after today.
And it would be foolish to write Federer off at WTF. It is after all a tournament he's won, what, 5 times? We don't know what state Murray and Djokovic are in physically either.
Nah, I still think Fed will make it to the semis and then lose it..

I still think he might pull out of Paris. He said he wanted to rest before the WTF. Anyway we should find out pretty soon,

Just remembered, had a bet with my brother which I was 99.99% sure I would lose..
Now, he has to treat me with ice-cream!
It was just a small bet though...I was little scared that I will end up losing.

Hi All,
Well done to Delpo! I have a funny thing with Delpo, sometimes I like him, sometimes I don't, but today I do.
I love Smugfed when he loses. It makes him look constipated.
That crowd, talk about biased. Don't get me wrong, Andy was supported at the Olympics, very much so, but Federer got more than barely polite applause during the match. Today it was as much as that crowd could do to clap politely when Delpo won. I just think it's rude.
I think Smugfed should play Paris to be honest. I have few pleasures in life, why deny me the chance of watching Andy beat him again?
You can never rule Smugfed out, and he has won the WTF five times, but something tells me he is not going to get things his own way this year. I'd put Andy and Djokovic's chances slightly above Smugfed at the moment. Delpo could make life awkward I suppose, but I'd be surprised if he could pull off what he has done today again. If he goes well in Paris I suspect he won't have enough left for the WTF, whereas I think certain others will.

This should have been Andy instead of Del.
Perfect revenge for the Wimbledon final...in their home grounds.

Three tournament losses for Federer since Cincinnati - first to Berdych, then to Andy and now, to Del Potro. A bit unheard of. He did talk about being "wounded" a couple of weeks after the USO loss and doesn't seem to have recovered all that much since then. But on the bright side, he did get what he wanted this year - 1 more Slam, got back to No. 1 once again despite all odds and broke Pete's record once again, so he might be feeling a lot too. Last year he was much fresher around this time of the year. All in all, a very good year for him at this age. I am now more convinced though that he'll put the racquet down next year once and for all.
On a side note, Andy's chances to win WTF are looking better and better; that is though, if he is really up for it.

I didn't think Delpo had to do much to win that, particularly in the last set - Fed really was not at his best. I agree with TJ about the crowd - they were about as partisan as you could get - understandable but very unsporting. I never normally want Fed to win but today I did only because I don't want Delpo getting ideas above his station and coming into the WTA brimming with confidence.
