A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

I was also asking myself if that was a typical partisan crowd: absolute silence after a JM winner, applause after a fault. The Wimbledon spectators may not be very representative as they love Federer as an institution. The victory is a real revenge for all the losses JM has experienced this year when he nearly had Fed in the net. Therefore all our doubts before and during the match. A remark on Fed's age: is he not as old as Ferrer or others or is it an inappropriate comparison?

I didn't think Delpo had to do much to win that, particularly in the last set - Fed really was not at his best. I agree with TJ about the crowd - they were about as partisan as you could get - understandable but very unsporting. I never normally want Fed to win but today I did only because I don't want Delpo getting ideas above his station and coming into the WTA brimming with confidence.
Alis that very phrase went through my mind - hope delpo doesn't get ideas above his station as a result of this win.

I don't think Delpo would mind playing in the WTA.
I think he has a right to be confident ,, although that Serena can be a bit scary.

F
play Serena.

Saw 2 sets of the match and don't think Fed was playing that well, tbh. His serve seemed off most of the time and when playing these huge servers your own serve has got to be s*** hot unless u r a brilliant returner. Don't think Fed's ROS stats are that good.

I completely agree. I also don't necessarily think this is a good thing for us or Andy.

I wanna see Federer on the seniors tour though, I don't think any of the other players would bother turning up.
