Yet again a win... but patchy performance. Will have to play much better to beat the top players. Thru tho and that is what matters.

Great result now Simon tomorrow. Goodnight everyone.

They used to stick ginger under a horse's nose to gee him up!

Sorry Aileen but they put it under their tails, especially the Arabs as it makes them stick their tails up high and move faster.  It ism now banned.  Thank goodness.

He is still working his way back. He won and did it in straight sets, that's all we can ask at this stage. He expended the necessary energy to win. I think he will get through Simon, but I am not sure there after. He is making progress. The fact he got through Andur yesterday was another step forward, and the fact he would have been expected to beat Sousa today in straight sets, and did so is another.

Why doesn't he try to break opponents twice with his unrealiable serve.

Thanks Tamila.  I misread the source. doh  Just proves you shouldn't try to do this sort of thing during Andy's matches!  Anyway it sounds a horrible practice so I'm glad it's been stopped.

Usual sleepy start, then looked OKish.
Shame next match is early. Glad he's not playing Dimi/Gul next though. Still has rust.

It was his inability to capitalise on BPs that worried me - but it's still early days, so I'll happily settle for a win right now, however he does
