Every summer during Wimbledon, Murray gets put under the microscope in Great Britain. Roddick joked Monday, “You read the news articles and it’s like, ‘Andy blew his nose at 10:23 this morning on the practice court.’”

Hmm..  Sitting in a car for 13.5 hours instead of a 2 hours flight on a plane.  Is that wise for Andy's stiff back ?

That's what I thought! Surely that amount of time sat cramped up is worse that the flying! And it's not like he's got loads of time to spare!

However comfortable a car is, I would have thought you would get worn out on such a long journey. I'm also concerned Think

I actually went and looked at the link for the first time.  First off, he's driving a Caddy SUV - nothing in the world more comfortable than that - not even a first class seat on a plane.  Secondly, he has just acquired his driving license ...... huloooooo ....... Thirdly, why would you sit in a germ laden plane if you dont have to.  The vehicles in the States are nearly all automatic - driving a CAddy SUV is like driving a Dodgem Car down a runway - no strain - the roads are very wide. Rest your weary head Marco ........ don't think he's having any problems other than the absolute joy of driving in the US with a brand new license .............

He's not driving Daisy - at least I hope not.  He said he'd been sleeping for four hours.
Even so - its a godawful way to travel

I agree in the UK it is an awful way to travel - in the US it is the best way to travel ..... (if you have the time)

He's not driving, Jez is doing that for him.

Like I said, however nice a car is, I think it takes its toll when you're in it for that long.

I would bet all the money in my piggie that he was driving, for at least part of the way.  Whyever would he not?
Because he's only just passed his test, he needs to build up his confidence a bit before driving in another country while putting the lives of his friends in his hands.

I can fully understand why he has done this, after seeing the inside of airport terminals week in week out for most of the year it must come as a relief to do something a bit different when travelling between tournaments.

He also got a chance to see a bit of Canada and the US (abet from inside a car) but they do say a change is as good as a rest. yes

I'd be really surprised if he did not take the wheel for a spell ............... I'd be amazed if he didn't.  It is so much easier to drive in the US than over here - especially - on the Interstate Highways ...... have a look at the pictures of Interstate Highways online and you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
It's just like driving a Dodgem Car.
