That's great news. I was hoping he'd play doubles (though I very much doubt they'll televise it), back to staring at a live scoreboard folks.
That's what Leyton did when he was starting. In fact he won the US Open Doubles with Max Mirnyi the year before he took the singles title.
It can only be a good thing to get straight back onto court in a competitive match.

Some of us have to rely on them all the time
So don't complain

Disappointment, I never even thought that they wouldn't be showing the doubles matches on TV, I was all set for another early morning.

Teletext might have it, being a British match and everything

If it's just livescore or teletext I think I'll stay in bed, hopefully we'll hear before then whether it will be televised, might set the recorder for Eurosport anyway just in case.

Found this info. on the pair Andy will be playing in the doubles

They've won the Medibank Tournament already this year and beaten the Bryans.

Great news that Andy will be playing doubles. It'll certainly cheer him up a bit, and give him some important match practice which is I think what he needs right now.
Will be interesting to see how they do.

Santoro is a complete wizard on court. I love watching him play He's small of stature but is capable of completely bizarre shot selection, runs everything down and is a delight to watch. The points he scores have, at times, made be stare at the screen in disbelief. They're that incredible.
Othertimes he's just not got the basic stroke consistency to win, although he's had a fair few top scalps.
(I apologise if I keep witteringon about things you already know, but I've been a tennis fanatic for many years now, and I'm conscious that some of you dont know these players). Just tell me to put a plaster over my mouth if I'm stating the obvious.
The main thing is Andy gets back on court asap, and even if/when they lose, it's all part of this huge learning curve he's on. best of luck, Andy. Play to your best and the sting of Chela game will hopefully fade
though not the lessns you can take away from such an abysmal performance.
