So... here cometh the Andy/Nole match:
If Nole wins, we shouldn't be disappointed.
If Andy wins, we shouldn't be ecstatic.
Right?

Right scotnadian - given it's an exo, wouldn't take the results too seriously either way.

I fear the weather might be the victor judging from the forecast I saw on Sky UK this morning (last night UK time).

calm down people honestly I'm making a bold prediction here (again) I was right about RG Andy will make the 2nd week of Wimbledon.. watch this space
Wow, you really stuck your head above the parapet there.
Considering he's made the second week every year he's participated since 2006.

You're right Bev.....I'm not that far from London. The sky here is black and it's chucking it down!

Didn't see the match so can't comment but from what I've read in the press the comms don't sound concerned and said that Andy was moving well, with no sign of back problems. So I'm hoping it means Andy was just using it to get the match practice and try out whatever he's been working on with Ivan rather than to win. Also Tipsy has had more match practice on grass than Andy. So am hoping it doesn't mean very much.

Andy clearly wasn't bothered in the interview I saw on Sky UK this morning. In fact he said that it had been a good workout, was moving freely and wasn't sliding about all over the place. He was looking forward to his next match there and then would be returning to Wimbledon to continue his preparations there.

You wouldn't know that though from the coverage on BBC Breakfast this morning .... ' Andy Murray suffered another defeat on grass yesterday in his lead up to Wimbledon, after his defeat in the first round of Queen's last week.......' or words to that effect. At least Jo Public won't have any great hopes for Wimbledon so it may take some of the pressure off Andy.

Weather app has Slough currently sweltering in 16 degrees C (that's 1 degree less than it was here in Hamilton today) and dry and sunny
but also has an icon of
for the day
Just been updated to 17 degrees and cloudy

I saw parts of the match as it wasn't interesting enough to watch continually, very social atmosphere, not at all competitive - maybe thats part of the deal. I think a big part of these occasions on the part of the players is to entertain and experiment so i conclude very little about Andy's Wimbledon preparedness from this other than general fitness.

I'm sure that's right - it wouldn't be considered 'good form' to win in quick, easy straight sets. And good point Alis: the more BBC lowers expectations the better.

I dislike making predictions, but I'm going to reverse this.
Since Andy and Ivan have got together, Andy's performances have not progressed one iota. In fact in many ways Andy's tennis and his performances in various events have gone backwards.. I am aware that Andy is trying to placate Ivan by eg becoming more aggressive and attaempting many other on court attitudes.
However, none seem to be working and bothare not content with Andy's successes or lack of same. Many MW posts and various comms have said that it will take time. But I don't think taht Andy has such time left to him.
Having said the foregoing, it is my feeling (without any fore-knowledge) that Andy and Ivan may part company owing to the continuing lack of progress and mutual frustrations not long after USO or more likely after ATP World Tour Finals. I hope that I am wrong. We shall see

How do you know that Andy and Ivan are not content. Ivan and Andy, never mind MW, have stressed it will take time. Injury hasn't helped. We just don't know whether they feel it's working or not.
