Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Federer's draw:
Bye - Nieminen/Bogomolov - Kohlschreiber - Monaco - Ferrer - [Final]
This is just utterly ridiculous.
Murray's...
Bye - Querrey/Melzer - Roddick - Del Potro - Djokovic - [Final]
Come on.
Please nobody tell me that these draws aren't rigged in Fed's favour because it's blindingly obvious now that they are. It's disgraceful.

Dreadful trophy and terrible draw.
Well you've got to beat the best to be the best.

Apparently Tsonga's pulled and I've seen on another site that Andy has told reporters he too may pull.
Que sera everybody.

Since Wimbledon we've had the doom merchants re Andy's draw and despite a difficult draw he has come through. It would be good for Andy if he is fit, which I'm sure he will be to see him beating Nole and then smashing Federer again. That would really set him up for the big one and would send out a message to everyone. Querry was well beaten by Nole and Andy's H2H against del Po is good. So let's send our positive vibes. Fed may have the easy draw, but it won't do him a lot of good.

Shocking draw again. this is ridiculous. but I think Andy will prove us wrong again ansd beat of all of them
. The US open better be easier. I expect that draw to be Young, Young, Young, Young, Young, Young, me. if it isn't that. I'm so protesting.
Just give me the trophy and I'll smash it and I'll come up with a prettier one

Well Andy has shown the world what he thinks of horrible draws in fine style so let's hope he can do it again. But worrying that he might be pulling out as that suggests the knee is more than just a minor niggle and doesn't augur well for USO.
Re the trophy I assume it's the same trophy each year just as say Wimbledon's is.

Djoko's quarter has to be the easiest - he must think all his birthdays have come!
(Novak Djokovic benefits from a quarter with four qualifiers. Faces winner of Seppi/Haase. Compatriot Tipsarevic also there.)

Yes but I imagine he'd rather face Ferrer than Andy in the SFs! In fact in terms of the draw surely the comparisons are between nole and fed and andy and ferrer? Not sure what ferrer's draw is like?

I check 100 tmes until 1:00 am then gave up and went to bed!
If Andy faces Meltzer (lefty) ranked 36, at 31 yrs is no spring chicken and Andy has a 5-0 H2H against him. Odds on Andy will beat him.
Querry is ranked 35 and Andy has 4 -1 record against him. The only loss coming last time they played at Los Angeles in 2010.
Sure, these are tougher opponents than a qualie, but I look at it this way, Andy is no. 4 in the world, he would meet them anyway in due course.
They have far more to worry about than Andy!
I think of the draw in terms of poor low-ranked players that dont get beyond the 1st round because they meet a top 10 player.
I'm sure the top guys expect this to happen sometimes and I don't believe the draws are fixed.

I don't actually think the draw is that bad - up to facing Novak, Andy's seeded to meet players he's got a good H2H over. I'm not so sure Andy will go all out to win this one though, especially if his knee is still bothering him.
