Djokovic is going down hill. This season is a mirror image from last year. Let's see if he follows the same trend and step it up again during the clay.

The draw for this should be out within the next hour.

Of the 4 toughest players on Clay in that draw, 2 play off to face Murray. After that the draws straight foward, even if Ferrer gets there Murray should still be able to beat him, until Nadal.

Bellucci and Kohlschrieber are no clowns. Tough 2nd round for Murray.

So, if it is Kohlschreiber he faces ......
World Tour & GS Career Record on Clay for Kohlschreiber is 53W vs 51L
World Tour & GS Career Record on Clay for Murray is 20W vs 18L
So approximately the same ratio ..... going to be interesting.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

This sounds like MTF hyperbole, but Ponies injury is potentially career threatening. The fact that he hasn't played since the AO and is still unable to train, coupled with the fact that it's tendonitis, which is basically impossible to cure, means he could well be f*cked.
Nonsense - I've had tendonitis in my elbow and my shoulder and it most definitely
is
curable, although it does take quite a bit of physio and exercise to finally get over it, and obviously full recovery is going to be much more important for a tennis player, so that's why he's seeing a specialist, just like Andy did last autumn. Also Andy's torn tendon sheath in 2007 really did have the potential to be career threatening. The younger the person the better the chance of a recovery from these injuries, although the same can't be said for Nadal. Sadly I think his knee problems may well spell the end of his career sooner rather than later.

Gee, do I notice a tinge of reducing pessimism creeping in here?
Where’s all the: “He’s crap!”, “He’s never gonna win again!” stuff gone?
Before we know it there will be a tinge of optimism creeping in.
Heaven’s above!!!
Better start practising saying:
“I told you so”

George we are naturally optimistic - just cautious - how can you you not be optimistic about a super talented 22/23 year old tennis star - it would be daft to write him off now - he'll bounce back after a while.

I've just tried looking this up on the live scoreboard, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I was thinking this, he was quite poor at AO I think. But he has won a few tournaments and is finally in front of both Murray and Nadal.

Just registered. Have been following Andy's career for years and can't believe a) how unlucky he has been - at crucial stages he always seems to meet players on far better form than usual and on a mission eg Roddick at Wimbledon and b) how horrible the media are to him. If I hear that Sky TV bloke saying Andy is unpopular again I will eat my remote in frustration. Don't they realise that the more they say it the more it will be believed. Andy mutters and yells on court a bit OK but when interviewed he is unfailingly polite, knowledgable and self deprecating. He doesn't drink or mess around, keeps fit and is nice to his Mum. How much better a role model for our kids do the media want? Beckham? Tiger??
