Agree with blueberryhill. Playing doubles is probably just as much effort as practising for a few hours. If you watch closely the players hardly move! The person at the net basically moves sideways and stretches. The server doesn't do much more. I could probably play doubles. This is good practice for Andy. Great to see Laura smile as well. She's chuffed to bits Andy picked her in front of Heather Watson.

Andy is really enjoying this and so is Laura - she's growing in confidence too. It will be quite an achievement if they win against the Germans.

Yes Aileen but the tennis makes up for it. I hope Andy saves some of this excellence for tomorrow.

Well Ms Wade thinks playing two mixed doubles matches today will be good preparation for tomorrow also she seems remarkably full of praise for Andy and Laura.

Quite honestly it wouldn't have troubled me if they'd lost their first match from the point of view of Andy conserving his energy.

They say the energy he is expending is no more than in practice and the confidence the crowd is helping him to build will be beneficial. Let's hope they're right.

This must be a tremendous confidence boost.  All the time I was on the phone I could hear the crowd and it was just amazing.

Two silver medals guaranteed.  Who'd have thought that three weeks ago.  I'm so proud!  And it does silence the doubters who felt that Andy should have played with Heather Watson.
