I am still convinced that his first GS will be Australia.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

My life is on hold and my credit card on standby.
He said he will catch up on his sleep on the plane here today. He's supposed to play Wednesday, but all the pressers I've read say he will wait until he gets here and then decide.
Lendl will be here (he won't be at Cincy), so I guess they will have a lot of catching up to do and decisions to make. I will support any decision Andy makes.
I'm not counting my chickens until they are hatched.
I really do hope Andy decides just to concentrate on practising or whatever with Lendl and generally getting acclimatised. He'll be playing against a qualifier, Italy's Flavio Cipolla, who's ranked No.96 - and I think we all know what can happen in these situations if Andy isn't feeling his best and his opponent, who has nothing to lose, plays out of his skin. Ultimately though it's up to him, so we should respect that.

teejay- I watched a bit of Totornto on sky this evening Marcus seemed pretty pumped for Andy, and Petchey did too, but Petchey did say dont get csrried away because fewer good grasscourters than HC he expects Del Po, Ferrer to be bigger threats at USO than they are on grass and also Novak will be keen to establish himself again!! so Andy should def not be considered favorite for USO.
I find Petchey's comments a little odd given that 20 of Andy's 23 titles have been won on HC but maybe he's merely trying to dampen down the current Murraymania a little. A little realism doesn't go amiss.

I always thought it would be the U.S.
He loves the atmosphere there. The way he is playing at the mo is perfect for that court!!

I think we may be forgetting that most of the contenders in this tournie have played 2 or even 3 comps. since Wimbledon.

Agree there will be a big threat from Del Potro after his Olympics. He's certainly on his way back.
I'm in two minds about Del Potro. He certainly has made another push lately, that's undoubtedly true. I just don't know yet if he can threaten in the majors, although he had a very good Wimbledon.
I have to say as well that Andy seems to be one of those who has Del Potro's measure, if their head to head is anything to go by. We'll see.

I know. Was looking for a cute face with possibly holding a Scottish or Canadian flag (lol), but couldn't find any and was only stuck with this one.

Peter Fleming thinks Andy should play unless he feels physically he might injure himself because he thinks he has a real chance of getting to #1 this year and every match helps. Apparently he's flying over right now. I also caught the v end of the highlights programme and I think Fleming was saying that while he wouldn't necessarily tip Andy to win USO there was noone he'd put above him.

Andy will be playing F. Cipolla. Potential 3rd round Raonic.
Nole's up agaisnt Tomic. And his potential 3rd round match is Nishikori.

If Novak doesnt make it to the finals you know that means federer will be top dog for quite some time too.
I'd rather Novak got back on top in preparation of Andy's longer reign
