Simon won't beat Chardy or Zeballos.
How so? Simon is rubbish, his form has sucked this year. Both Zeballos and Chardy are seasoned clay courters, they could easily own Simon.
He won't be facing Simon.

Good call.

I won't be cheering for Andy, I still can't, but I can whisper quite loud lol.

As for wishing your life away, my Mum used to say that time speeds up after you reach 21. I used to laugh and say she was daft. I'll be forty in September and suddenly what she said is ringing true lol.

Teejay, mums are usually right and in this case yours most definately was. Time is racing along now much faster than it used to.

I imagine he would be dead by the semis. Wawrinka seems to be the most likely to be there, imo, and he'll be knackered by then too. It's really falling into place. Berdych would be the biggest threat but he's been awful lately.

Got to get past Simon, Berdych and one of Tsonga/Wawrinka/Dimitrov.

Can't see it. QFs I think.

Following a familiar pattern, then Dimitrov will lose his next match to Verdasco

Berdych has two more matches to go before he meets with Andy. Berdych is most inconsistent in these rounds so who knows if he'll even make it. I don't worry about Tsonga too much. Dimitrov is not even a factor at this point. That leaves Wawrinka and he's been playing a lot lately.

He has more faith in Nole. He was sure Nole was going to come out in 3 sets against Dimitrov today.

If Andy can get through Simon, and personally I think he will, I fancy him to get through Berdych. The clay might favour Berdych, but as long as he continues to forget he can play on it Andy has a chance. Andy did beat him in 3 of their four meetings last year (I think!) and I know the loss was on clay, but still.

I wonder how well Dimitrov will recover from tonight? He was very emotional, that has to have taken a lot out of him. Tsonga might be a good bet for Andy. The clay might be a factor, but Tsonga is scared stiff of Andy, so......

I'm not going to assume anything to be honest. I'd love Andy to get to the final, of course, but it's a way off yet. First things first, beating Simon.

I'm not going to assume Andy will make it to any particular round, but I wouldn't be surprised if Grigor slumps in his next match.  He's going to be physically and emotionally exhausted.  In fact, all of the players who are supposed to be serious competition in this half are all vulnerable to mixed form, so I don't trust any of them to make it to where they are supposed to be meeting Andy either! lol

I am pleased for Grigor to have a great win like that.  I really thought he'd had it once he'd lost the 2nd set, so fair play to him.  Tennis needs someone like him to be a serious challenger against the top players, even if it is just an occasional upset for now.  I like him a lot, and I also think it's good that Nole isn't looking too invincible.  I don't take any pleasure in any player losing, but I think it's good that it's not just Andy who makes the occasional unscheduled early exit.

^ Thought he'd got a lot better than when he played Andy. His back hand looked like a liability then. Yesterday it didn't.
