Andy at US Open 2013

Bleacher Report seems to be written by morons. I've defended Andy on it before, but the thing is so pro Fed and Nadal that no one else really gets a look in.

It amuses me to be honest that Fed's fans are voting for him like that. It's either a sign of desperation or total panic.

There was a poll on Sky's website the other day. That put Nadal as favourite and Andy firmly as second favourite, with, if I recall correctly, quite a gap between Andy and Novak, who was considered third favourite.

My own opinion is that I can see why Nadal would be favourite, given his recent form, but you can't argue with Andy's form in the slams over the last 12 months. I also firmly believe that Novak is less confident than he has been lately, and through the year to be honest, so I can't really argue with how people have voted on Sky's site. They didn't give Federer much of a chance, which surprised me in a way, not because Federer has been in great form, because he hasn't, but because there are people who tend to vote for him just for the heck of it.
Totally agree with you.
I'm waiting to see similar upsets to Wimbledon to see who makes it to the latter stages of the tournament, my gut feeling is Fed will go out quite early, and I'm waiting to see Nadal manages in a long 5 set, if that happens early on then he could go out before the semis.

Actually I think he is an excellent tennis correspondent, but as everyone is so different and one man's meat is another's poison, it's a case of what attracts us. Your meat is definitely my poison as you are a great fan of JJ and I can't warm to the guy. But we can still be  hug
Yes I wondered on what basis you said that prod about Harman?   I don't always like the way he talks about Andy in interviews, and I'm not a Times reader, but I have to say that his pieces after Wimbledon were great and showed a genuine appreciation of our Andy as both a tennis player and a man.

His claim that the US Open draw is 12pm local is false, and he always came across as arrogant to me.

#USOpen draw: Novak Djokovic has No3 Andy Murray drawn into his half, which means no rematch of last year's final in this year's final.

#USOpen draw: Projected QFs: Djokovic-del Potro, Murray-Berdych, Ferrer-Gasquet, Federer-Nadal. Fedal could have first ever USO match in QF.

well the good news is that, if all goes to seeding, Andy faces Nole not Rafa in SF; the bad news is he faces Birdy in QF.  But still he beat both of them last year so why not this year.  I bet Nole fans are going 'aaagghh' at thought he's drawn short straw of Andy in SF.
