With incredibly dangerous floaters like Pospisil, Gulbis and Dimitrov in the draw, it could be a difficult task but he's the heads on favourite here.

Yes, Ferrer too, although I'm not 100% sure he is playing as yesterday TennisTV said that after Rio, where he lost to Dolgopolov yesterday, he was going back to Valencia for a week. Yes, I would always put Andy as favourite in a hard court tournament above Ferrer whatever his condition is. Although Ferrer is a top class hard courter too.

Crap, I've only just seen that Acapulco is now hardcourt - what's that about?

It's about prep for Indian Wells and Miami.  No way Andy would be laying a random clay event in Feb (other than Davis cup) when he's getting ready for 2 back to back hardcourt Masters events.
