Slight correction here - Tsonga has been coached by Miles Maclagan since Wimbledon, after he parted company with Kohlschreiber.

Also PT I agree that Dani is very cute tender but not necessarily the best person to motivate Andy, although Andy says he feels more confident when Dani is watching him play.
Interesting that Nalby is playing Nishikori, who is being coached by Brad Gilbert btw, as I think Nishikori could beat him.  Nalby isn't the most consistent of players.  I've watched Nishikori play and he's a very solid, determined young man whose career was interrupted for a year following elbow surgery.

I agree whole heartedly with that.   Sometimes it breaks my heart to see him squandering all that talent in this way.  I'm hopeful Mr Magic will turn up here, but as another poster said - one match at a time, something I'm sure Andy would agree with.  Montreal may have been a disaster for him, but it's worth remembering that Nadal and Fed also made early exits.  At least Andy has had the benefit of 3 doubles matches,  which will surely have sharpened him up.

We won't know the OOP for tomorrow until the early hours here as it's not posted until play has ended for the day.  It's possible Andy might not be playing until Wednesday though.

Aileen are you sure that Miles is coaching Jo-W?  Last I heard he was coaching Marcos B.  Or has he moved on again so quickly??
I think there's a good chance that Nishikori will beat Nalby.  Didn't realise he is coached by Brad G.  Now that could be tricky don't you think if it is Nishikori playing Andy - my guess being tomorrow as Nole will almost certainly have asked not to play till Wednesday don't you think?  Do hope Andy is getting some proper coaching from Adidas team even if Cahill is otherwise engaged with commentating duties [is he does anyone know?]

Thanks Ruthie - I did kind of think it may be Tuesday - surely our Andy will be motivated this time.  I noticed that Nalbandian is playing today against Niskikori (according to Europosrt) so I guess it will be the winner of that one.  I can't help but remember the last time he played Nalbandian and totally destroyed him with a masterclass of tennis.  It's so frustrating knowing he has the talent to surpass anyone but his consistency is not there yet with the top guys.  Mind you that is the joy of being a Murray Maniac - it's never dull or boring...................
I too feel the frustration of Andy's rollercoaster.  Watching Nole and Fish play yesterday, I couldn't help but think that Andy is as good as both, perhaps better, but until Andy has that self belief we will be on the rollercoaster.  The Aura has passed from Sampras, to Federer, and now on to Nole and all they have to do is show up in somebodys draw and the opponent concludes they will lose.  But Andy has beaten, Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic so he just needs to understand that he can go out there expecting to win, not fearing to lose.

Cincy is hot and somewhat dry, great tournament to go to, practice courts easy to get to to watch players practice, players lounge is right there where you can wait for your player to come out.  If you play golf, there is a nice golf course attached, I once talked to Guga as he was walking out to play golf, then he came running back and he yelled out with a smile that he forgot his wallet.  There's also an amusement park across the way.

Good luck Andy!!  May the force be with you!!  And, may Mr Magic be at your side giving you great confidence!!   pray cmonandy

Thanks for the background information about Cinci Apollo.  But we don't want Mr Magic by Andy's side - we want him to be seeing and striking the ball!  Come on Mr Magic time for you to reappear.   cmon yeah

Sven Groneveld posted a video clip on twitter of Andy practising so I guess he's working with Andy.

Not sure what to expect from this week, I just hope he can win some matches here - hard to believe that he's not won a tour-level hard court match since Australia when it's supposed to be his best surface...

Frauderer is playing tomorrow night dont we normallly get the same side of the draw playing at the same time which would mean Novak playing which would seem harsh.

Bit unfair that Fedex knows when he's playing his match already! Still no further schedule up, just the centre court matches Rolling Eyes

poster_oops  Sorry, everyone!  Yes, it is Baghdatis.  I really shouldn't rely on my memory these days. Whistle  However, I am right about Nishikori - from his Wikipedia: "In December 2010, it was announced that Nishikori would be coached by Brad Gilbert for the 2011 season."

Thanks Bev. Smile  But look at the 1st set score in Paris ...  nervous  I do remember watching the match, though, and nearly having a heart attack when Andy hurt his wrist!

Nalbandian isn't the most consistent of players and has never really found his way back after having hip surgery two years ago, something which was followed by a series of leg injuries.  Nevertheless, he can still be a force to be reckoned with ...

I'm wondering if Djokovic will play here since he was having problems with his right shoulder in the Montreal final, although, great player that he is, he still found a way to beat a resurgent Mardy Fish.

Bit unfair that Fedex knows when he's playing his match already! Still no further schedule up, just the centre court matches Rolling Eyes
Between us we should get it sometime during the night/day. Very Happy

I saw on the news that you've had snow in NZ for the first time for decades.  Have you been affected by this?  There seem to be unusual weather patterns worldwide this year.

P.S. - If you find out Andy's playing tomorrow then can you open the match thread?  I'm wary of doing it because I did it for Montreal ... Don't want to jinx him!

We just had a fluttering of snow round here - caused immense excitement for some Very Happy especially as they'd never seen snow before.  Just bitterly cold here today but not very nice for those down in Christchurch no

Will do re the thread Aileen goodjob

Oh Bev - these poor, poor souls ... and, of course, it never rates a mention now in the British media, even when we haven't had rioting to occupy our minds.

Ta for doing the thread. Smile

Oh good.  That means Andy will have an extra day to practise with Groenevald, we hope.

EDIT: Bev has opened the match thread - http://www.murraysworld.com/forum/andy-murray/cincinnati-r2-murray-vs-nalbandian/

Thanks Catnap - reassuring.  And agree with Aileen good that he's got an extra day's practice with him even if it means I might miss the match as I'm out tomorrow evening [though in truth I won't be too unhappy to have the excuse of recording it  Whistle]  Oh and Apollo - no need to apologise!  Didn't mean to pick you up on how you said it.  Just wish Andy would remember sometimes that he is Mr Magic!!    w00t
