Fleming and Hutchins should definitely be playing doubles, they are a better doubles pairing than Andy and Jamie.

I was just going to say that, Andy should just be playing singles when there are some really good doubles players to pick from, I hope Leon sees sense.  w00t

Yeah, I don't see why Andy should be playing doubles.

I was also looking forward to see Fleming play again. lol

Surely they should see how the matches go on Friday before deciding if Andy plays doubles.

The final decision will be made on Saturday. Smile They're allowed to change who plays the doubles up to an hour, I think, before the match starts.

Yes, they certainly are and should be given a chance. It's a team effort, not a one man show!

A telling quote from Andy Murray earlier: "I just need to keep working hard and not worry about what all of the ex-British players have got to say about my game because I know more about tennis than them and I practice much harder than most of them ever did."

Well said Andy.  clap clap

Really?  I thought Djokovic won the Davis Cup all on his own.  Well, you'd think he did the way the tennis press go on.

I feel that it would be a mistake for Andy to play doubles. There are other pairs more suited than the two Murrays.

Incidentally, it is the first time that I have agreed with John Lloyd. Like him I believe that by smartening himself up, including being clean-shaven, he will give an aura to his opponent that he belongs on the court and that he is a winner before they start playing.

OSS - think it was David Lloyd who made the comments.

A question from Stu Fraser (sports journalist) on twitter..

Here's a question for the statmen! Is Andy Murray the highest ranked player to have ever played Davis Cup in Group 2?

----
I would guess he is but does anybody know?

Stupid me, I didn't read the article carefully enough. I just glaced at it!

I should have known that JL wouldn't have had a good word to say about  Andy.

Ross Hutchins is not in the team. Doubles players Jamie and Colin are, very surprised he is playing Andy.
