I suppose we'll know soon if he's left London, arrived IW and how he is or if he's going to have to pull out. I still don't see him as being able to be fit and on form so swiftly after the virus, young and healthy though he is. Maybe he'll just ease himself into his work in Indian Wells and aclimatise for Miami so he can go full tilt then. Rolling Eyes

Murray is so fit and strong maybe his recovery time will be much faster than a normal person.

Do we know for sure that he is heading off to California yet? All I've seen is a single line in The Times saying that he'll be flying off today, but there was no quote from the Murray camp to back it up.

You can't acclimate in Indian Wells for Miami - two different climates.

After I linked to The Times about Andy flying out today, Allan found the same thing being said by the Daily Mail

Well, if he's heading out for the US today, he's leaving it a bit late isn't he?  He should have been there already - especially if he is to play at the end of the week.  I would think he really is already there and someone is yanking our chain.

I don't think he's leaving it that late by flying out today, that gives him at least 3 full days of preparation in the new conditions. He couldn't exactly fly out while GB were still in their tie, how bad would that look!

Of course it would look bad - I think he has to be already there.

There is an 8 hour time difference between here and Indian Wells - that is going to take him possibly 1 hour per day to get to grips with ........'... see where I'm coming from?  Especially if he is already below par.

Yeah but even if Murray is suffering from jet lag for his first couple of matches, there's a good chance he'll still manage to get the win. By the time he faces a real challenge, he'll be over it.

I seriously doubt that.  He can possibly play with jetlag and win.  I doubt that he can play with jetlag and some unknown illness, or even the latter stages of some unknown illness, and win.

Hopefully he's recovered by then, he's so physically fit it wouldn't surprise me.

Twit - he's not physically fit at the moment (if we believe absolutely everything we read and hear) and that's the problem.  You never know - it might all be a smokescreen!

I wasn't making any assumptions, I know you're a bit of an oldie so I thought you might be using it in a different way than I am used to.
