Monfils is very injury prone, his all action style of play cannot help.

He tries to slide on hardcourt, doesn't he? I can't imagine how or why he does it, the thought of trying to slide across concrete makes me shudder - imagine hyperextending your knee!

He does indeed, it's bizarre, and his knee cartiledge must suffer, big time.

That's a real shame because I think Monfils is one of the most entertaining players to watch with the way he throws himself around like a mad man.

Yeah he's got Osgood-Schlatters Disease... See Wiki -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osgood-Schlatter_disease
Apparently it only flares up every now and again. Doesn't sound good. Would be such a shame to see Gael miss the French. Watching him do so well at the French was a bit like Andy's turn at Wimby. He really stepped up his game after that - it's just a shame injuries keep halting his progress. The guy is a showman at work!
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Muzz defending his Madrid title from last year? This will surely mean we have to wait a little longer for him to hit no.3?!

The Madrid points from last year transfer to Shanghai in October this year I believe (hard court -> hard court) as Shanghai is the new Masters in that old Madrid slot.
The points from Hamburg last year are now being defended in Madrid, so Andy is defending a third round and Nole a semi final!
No idea how the points work in Hamburg this year as it's randomly after Wimbledon in July

Haha how confusing! Good though because he didn't play Hamburg. I guess the new Hamburg 500 will just be like a new slate?
