Depends on Andy's back, I think. Clearly not right in Tokyo. Also, have seen on another site that Rafa will play WTF. Though why he'd do that, I cannot think. Indoors is his worst surface.
I can't think why Rafa would do that either BBH. Thought he didn't want to play in the UK anymore because of the high tax!!

This has been going on since Rafa went out with knee problems. He is coming back here and then here. The last I heard was that he was comning back to attend the EXO match in the break. I do not think he wants to commit to a long time out.

Hi Silver Lining......Welcome to MW! I love your name.......Very optimistic! Thanks for the welcome! I guess someone has to be optimistic, especially now that Andy has finally won a slam. Puts everything into perspective, really.

Courage doesn't always roar

Hi All,
The last I thought we heard was that Nadal is aiming to be back in December, not for the WTF. Then again, I think it was also suggested he might miss the AO, so God knows what's going to happen.

So how's Federer dealing with that recent death threat in Shanghai? lol. But seriously, that was so disturbing and I truly wonder how he's handling all this.

I think he will have a few minders perhaps more than he normally does. Don't think it is a serious threat but you never know.

the last I heard the person sending the death threats was arrested - just a rumour though Another thing I keep having this dream where all the statues of all the previous winners here form this tournie are going to come alive and take over the world It will be interesting to see the "wounded" Fed back, just to see how wounded he really is.

Yes remember there was a statue of Andy dressed like a warrior. It looked nothing like him in fact it was awful.

Fed doesn't care about the death threat, thinks everybody is over-reacting and it shouldn't even be news. I agree.

Berdych, Raonic and Bagdhatis must be thrilled to be in Nishikori's quarter!

Well with SmugFed conceeding that he expects Murray to become World Number 1 sometime in the future, I'd love even more for Muzza to slap him in straight sets if they meet in Shanghai

End of story? According to Tennis World Italia, the man who made an Internet death threat to World No. 1 Roger Federer posting under the alias “Blue Cat Polytheism Founder 07″ contacted the Shanghai tournament organizers to apologize for his comments: I’m terribly sorry. I was arguing with Federer fans and then I wrote something stupid … I hope that the organizers can understand me, forgive me, and if possible send my apologies to Federer and his family.” Federer elected to travel to Shanghai alone, leaving his wife Mirka and his twin daughters at home, possibly due to the threats. http://www.dropshotdispatch.com/2012/10/06/man-who-made-federer-death-threat-apologizes/
