I have got this from another message board that im a member off

Q : Why do we not have have more British top 100 players ?

A : We have enough players with the talent but not enough like Andy who has the right attitude and aggressive nature to go with the talent. Look at Andy out there battling away in this event…other less motivated players would just turn up and would not be bothered if they lost !

**********************

Q : Is Andy’s program next year fixed and if it is will he play all the grass court events like Nottingham ?

A : Not all events are fixed. Nottingham is not definite either way. His priority is to get into the top 32 and ensure a seeding at Wimbledon.

**********************

Q : How are you finding life on the road ?

A : It has been hard but also really enjoying watching Andy progress. My wife is still talking to me so as long as she does I am happy ! (He said laughing).

Q : I suppose a month in Aussie cannot be too bad in the middle of a British winter ?

A : Not to bad at all !

**********************

Q : Are you both (Andy & Mark ) looking forward to the Davis Cup in Glasgow ?

A : Very much so…Andy is excited it will be in Scotland…are you going ?

A : Yes…a 3 day ticket is costing £65.00 and they go on sale 5th December. (Me)

A : £65 !!!!!! ………If you are there then we can speak again. (Petchey)

**********************

Q : The tennis facilities in Scotland for the typical kid in the street are poor. What can be done ?

A : Judy Murray has expressed her concerns over this very point…….a lot needs to be done and will take time.

Q : Is it not the case that tennis is still to elitist ?

A : Yes but it is more than that……..we need more people like Judy Murray to try and get things changed !

**********************

Q : Thanks for the time and hope you don’t mind if I quote you. I have been sending text updates all day to get posted on the Andrew Murray messageboard so fans can keep updated !

A : That’s great…no problem…….both Andy and I are always online trying to keep updated with how the other British players are getting on…do you know if Bogdanovic won today ?

Q : No I don’t……..sorry. Do you know that James Auckland got to the Prague challenger semis ? (Me)

A : I was not sure if he just made the quarters or not…well done to James.

**********************

Q : Thanks again and good luck for next year !

A : No problems and hope to see you at the Davis Cup.

**********************

The actual text is as near as I could remember. After we finished speaking I dashed back to my hotel and wrote everything up so this is a close as I could get it.

Petchey is a terrific guy....open and honest....and he did not know me from Adam !

kev - you need to reference this more fully and have you asked the permission  of the website editor on the other site?

we had MAJOR problems over the weekend between the two sites and I don't want it to kick off again.

obviously this is not your fault - and you might have already asked Smile the interview is great, but we have to be really careful what we take from their site esp. as it was written by a member and is purportedly exclusive to the active board site - asking is probably a good idea.

they took a transcript of tallys without ref-ing it fully (well at all), it would be hypocritical if we did the same....

sorry to be a pain....

*pending further action, i will ref the article*
it comes from the activeboard site (http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=61841&subForumID=163247) and was written by acacia who met petch at the aberdeen cup).

I think that Andy should be able to make the seedings by Wimbledon and hope he doesn't get Tim early on, although I'm sure that andy would be the favourite now.

Hi

My name is Andrew and I had the Interview with Mark Petchey on Sunday evening. Thank you for adding the reference and credit.

The whole point of posting is so as many people can view it and have no issues with being posted on other boards....I am not into board v board nonsense.......!

I asked Petchey if I could post it on our site activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=61841&subForumID=163247 and he agreed.

Again thanks for adding the ref please just drop us an email if anyone here wishes to re-post anything from our site. I would do the same.

I have to apoligise for putting Murrays world in a possibly difficult situation as i was not aware of the politics involved between message boards, but i will keep this in mind and endevour to get permission from the author in question in future. Im glad that the original poster has no problems with postingthe story on here, and in future if i do get permission i will make sure that i give credit where its due ie a reference to said website.

thanxs again

Don't apologise, you didn't put MW into a difficult situation. At least you didn't make out that the content was yours. There are no rules here at MW with sourcing other people but I think there is only a problem when people lie and make out it belongs to them etc.

I personally don't mind too much if people use information from MW on their own site, aslong as they say something like "I saw this on another site", that is how generally things are done, and you don't have to put special effort in just because another message board got angry.

Emailing the author before posting about news that's already in the public domain is taking things too far. Kevster, what you said initially was totally acceptable.
