But ChrisMac, old man needs it
And we wouldn't want a level playing field now would we?

Simon's had an awful year, would be surprised, pleasantly though
Just a poor second half really. He faltered around about when Andy found his form.
Thing is with Simon he hasn't really improved that much, if at all, whilst the likes of Raonic, Nishikori, Dolgopolov have all surpassed him with the likes of Monaco and Kohlschreiber making vast steps forward. Cilic and Gasquet have returned to form as well.

It's been widely stated that Fed might pull out in order to rest his ageing body for the WTF. If there's any truth in this (which I can believe there is) it'll be interesting to see what he does after his defeat by Delpo in Basel. It was a very close match, and a bit of a serve-fest, but Delpo winning the title made my day!
Also am I right in thinking that Fed could do this without incurring any penalty because he's played over 700 matches, or something like that?

Yeah, in all those crucial moments, Fed managed to ace his way out. But that can't be a weapon every time.
He wasn't serving well at all during the Shanghai semis against Andy..massive improvement.

Okay, no they have 16 seeds. So Andy will get Fed's draw, Stan gets Andy's draw and Simon gets Stan's draw. And then some LL gets his draw.
This sucks! Our draw was great.

Is it official? Can't see anything on either the official or the ATP websites.

This is now simply a possibility for Andy to win both.

Was on Twitter. But no, nothing official yet. Fed said "it's too much for him".

As in 'not true'or as in 'that sucks'? Because that's how the ATP explains it in their rule book. I'll look for a quote... No match has been played yet, so the draw is still open for changes.

Thanks John. I hadn't read that. Please don't mock the afflicted though.
