Andy Murray Wimbledon Champion 2013

I suppose it is a difficult balance. Risk upsetting Sky on the one hand, or come across as normal and down to earth for a lot of people on the other. Looking just now at Facebook, for every one or two disagreeing, there are dozens backing what Andy said. There are a few wondering if his account has been hacked too, but I don't know. It sounds like Andy to me, he's shy, but he isn't backward about coming forward when he feels the need. He might regret saying what he said in public, but I don't know about that either.

That said, Andy isn't criticising Sky as such. He's expressing a view about one commentator. If Sky was to take offence at that they would look pretty silly. Cowan will probably hear about it of course, so he will stick the boot into Andy when he's commentating, but when doesn't he? Andy's a big boy, he can look after himself.

In many ways I hope Andy did say it and did mean it. If so he's only saying what I've been yelling at the TV for ages.

Don't think it was hacked teejay, was on both twitter and Facebook.

I didn't think it was either. To be honest I think there are people who can't handle someone in the public eye telling it like it is, or rather, as they see it, so they have to find an explanation for it. On the net it's hacking. It sounds like Andy to me, I just wish I'd been a fly on the wall when he was writing it lol.

Also Andy always uses the word "pumped" when he's looking forward to something.

I doubt it was hacked as they would probably have a bit more fun with it than that!  I imagine some others i.e smugFed would get a jab or 2!

I think they are linked, so something posted to one appears on the other, not that I'd think the account has been hacked.  At best, it was a family member writing exactly what they'd just heard Andy say, with less swearing.

I don't have Sky and rarely hear Cowan, but have read more than enough complaints about him, this week especially.  Andy is presumably referring to the commentary on today's match being clueless, rather than anything BC has been saying about Andy himself? Questioning general competence, rather than anything personal?

It makes you wonder if the players have any idea what it's like for us fans! Andy Roddick made some comments earlier this year, and got some good responses

glad to hear Andy is getting support for telling it like it is.   Perhaps it wasn't wise but it sometimes feels like Andy has to be so super careful these days, having been misinterpreted so often that it's a breath of fresh air to see him speaking out.   I can't imagine Sky will hold it against him [I imagine Peter Fleming had a good laugh as he tends to treat BC as if he thinks him clueless] but I'm sure BC will, especially if he sees Andy getting so much support.

Ruthie I can almost hear Fleming laughing his socks off lol.

I don't mind the Fleming/Cowan combo so much. Fleming treats him with the contempt he deserves. Fleming is very good at those little put downs, or short silences, when you know he's thinking 'What the hell is he talking about?'

Exactly! I love the raised eyebrow thing he does, it's hilarious.

I must say I have a teensy, weensy thing for Fleming. Must be getting old! Then again, I have a teensy weensy thing for Jez Green too. I either need to watch less tennis or get out more. Maybe both!

The funniest thing about Cowan is listening to him trying to backtrack when he's said something stupid. One of these days he's going to turn himself inside out.

I notice Cowan not commentating on the Fed-Paire match, wonder if he's gone home in a strop.
