On one hand the jungle drums are saying that Djoko will only be out for 10 days, on the other they are saying that he may well miss RG and Wimbledon.  The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Pundits always go with who is hot at the moment.  To listen to them yesterday you would believe that Stan is on route to win the calendar Grand Slam and finish the year as the world number 1.  Of course, he may well do that but I don't see it personally.  At the moment Andy is well below the radar - that's probably not a bad place for him to be - but I'm pretty sure the other players aren't writing him off and neither should we.
I agree with all that Alis, and Andy quite enjoys being the underdog because it makes him feel more relaxed, and if he feels relaxed he should be able to play some of his best tennis.

He's pretty close to the folk directly above him. Plenty time. I fully intend to be cheering him on in the semis!
He's also pretty close to the two players below him, but I'm certainly not fretting about his ATP ranking or his ranking in the Race to London.  There's a long way to go yet before any player even reaches the qualification cut-off point for the O2.

It's a fantastic event and I thoroughly enjoyed the matches I saw last year. Yes I would've loved to see Andy and hope to this year - but it didn't spoil my enjoyment. Had a great 2 days at Wimbledon last year and didn't see Andy. It is possible still to enjoy the tennis.

I'd love to go to the O2 as well.  Of course Andy would be the icing on the cake, but it must be a great experience watching all the top guys playing each other live.

Article by Simon Cambers about Wimbledon seeding formula. As things stand, Andy would be seeded 4th:

It may only be the beginning of the clay-court season but with so much speculation about the state of Rafa Nadal’s mind, Novak Djokovic’s wrist, Andy Murray’s back and Roger Federer’s baby, it’s tempting to leap ahead and look forward to Wimbledon, when hopefully all four will be on top form as they go for the title.....

The thing I find so irritating re the 02 is the way we, the brits who can't get Sky can only see the pm matches and not the evening matches

Good news for Andy that Ferrer had an early exit in Barcelona. Ranking totals are now almost fixed for start of Madrid. Only Stan and Rafa of top ten are now participating in a tournament before then. From four down to eight these next three tournaments might result in a reshuffle. Too many uncertainties to come to a probable outcome! Would be good if Andy was 4th on merit (and ATP) for Wimbledon but that might be far too optimistic?
