I'd like to be impartial, but I can't!

I've seen a brief preview and it looks very interesting, and I'd have been really surprised if a programme like this wasn't shown later throughout the UK.  I promise not to be a spoiler though!

Btw I edited my post after you quoted it, so for those who can watch in Scotland tonight, it's on at 9pm.
Haha yes no spoiling , hope you enjoyed Smile

Just seeing Andy would be nice Angie  Frown missing him x

I see that the acceptance list for Toronto was based on entry ranking at June 23 with then one special exempt place, four wildcards and qualifiers to add.

Del Potro is included in the top 44. Somewhere it said he would play. Is that correct? Not a concern to top eight seedings as he will be behind Andy.

I take it that the seedings will be as date of draw. I assume then it will be based on 28th July which will have Andy in 9th so needing to play first round.

IF he had played Washington and had made semis he would have been better placed for US open seeding but not for Toronto. It would have made no difference for that tournament.  As I have said many times the other players, except the top two who have so many points it does not matter, do play more than the basic so there is a choice of results. Ferrer, by playing Hamburg will replace a zero score so gaining points, has a float of five scores in case of a failure, Raonic after Washington will have eleven 1000 event scores to choose from.  Others too are being much more sensible than Andy.  It is not the ranking alone that benefits but if you are seeded top eight or four you have to play far less for your points. Is Andy aware of the benefits of such a strategy to his campaign to win Slams?

The entry list for Washington is not highest quality! I assume that they would have been pleased to offer him a place if there was one available? Perhaps it is too easy to see this now with hindsight although many of us did make the point, with reasons, after Wimbledon.

If this is to be believed, then he's playing in the USO - http://www.tennispanorama.com/archives/47350 - but I can find nothing to substantiate it.  He only started very light practising at the end of May, and still had to wear a splint, but in his last message to his fans on Facebook on 11 July he says 'Hello!! Here's a video of a tennis practice. I keep improving day by day. Thanks for your messages!!' so maybe his intention is to try to be fit enough to play Toronto.

He won't play Toronto, he's still not using his left hand and that was last weekend. He'll be back either right at the end of the year or next year.

Thanks Connor, and also I'm sure it was said when he had the op in March that he would be out for about eight months.

I think he's hoping to come back for the Malaysian Open after the USO but he's not confirmed that yet.
