Unusually it looks like a match thread hasn't been started the minute Andy's opponent is known so thought I'd step into the breach - though will leave the h2h to the expert.
It seems such an age since we last saw Andy play.  Mayer isn't the easiest of opponents to face in his first match as I believe he's one of those unconventional players who don't give you rhythm and he'll have had more of a chance to play himself in to the tournament than Andy has.  But Andy has been practising in Madrid since Thursday so am hopeful he has got used to the altitude etc.  Go Andy go.  cmon yeah

Great you started the thread Ruthie. Time is of the essence! There's a huge gap between these two player's achievements of course, but none the lessMayer is tricky and Andy not warmed up on the red stuff yet.

Wishing him good luck, anyway.

Andy's match is on after Fed, with a start time of that game not before 3.15 pm local time, so looking at a 1.15 am onwards for this neck of the woods yawn  I shall be up but have the added bonus that ESPN are covering this cmon yeah

Inspiration?  The outfits they were wearing last time they played (though could have used a better picture for Mayer but I'd already used it doh ) Very Happy

As a side notice. Hazel is extremely unwell and is unable to do RTR, we need someone to assist us through Madrid. Anyone want to help? You'll need to post five matches tomorrow, Thursday and Saturday.

It's raining cats and dogs in Madrid now. They are closing the roof (as I write) for the match,  Dimitrov versus (WC) J. Marti.

Well, Andy's match time suits me fine, I should be back from work in time to watch on C More Tennis channel. Hope ol- Stepanek can keep it going against Federer and do me a favour.

Nice cheeky griin on Andy's face in Bevs H2H.  Thanks for that! Sorry the time sucks for you all in NZ.

See you guys tomorrow then. Off to bed now folks. Surprised)

I'll do Saturday if you like, just tell me what to do.  I'm on here enough, so may as well make myself useful rather than folks read my rambles. Very Happy

Thanks to Tessie for her help.

And feel better soon, Haze. x
