Andy on Soccer AM
« on: September 09, 2005, 07:03 PM »
Sky have just announced that 'rising tennis sensation Andrew Murray' will be on the sofa tomorrow. This is a programme run by Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy and on Saturday mornings from 9 til 12 on sky Sports 1. Although it is mostly about football there is some other sports. I am sure Andy will have a lot to say.

Some we had heard before. New to me, although maybe not surprising, is that he is considering a move to the States. Emphasised how much more he prefers US Open to Wimbledon and doesn't think he will win Wimbledon 'til he is about 22. Aiming for top 50 by end of 2006. Quizzed on the girlfriend front and admitted New York girls offered more 'variety'! It was a football programme after all so he wore his Barcelona shirt and talked about his visits to the Nou Camp last season to watch a couple of Champions League matches.

Would Mark Petchey go with him if he moved to the States?

Asked him if he had a girlfriend, to which he said no. Agreed it might not be difficult to find one now, given all the attention he is receiving, although after they showed clip of him being sick he said maybe he wasn't so sure after that! Soccer AM crew assured him that it was nothing to worry about, it's only what a lot of blokes end up doing on a Saturday night (!)
Pushed on whether he preferred American girls to those over here, he went for American, specifically those in New York as there was 'more variety'.
