Yes. In R2 of the 2012 AO, beating him 6-1 6-4 6-4 (remember all the awful Vasline comments? Rolling Eyes)
Oh thanks Aileen - had slipped right out of my memory  Whistle

Tomorrow's schedule does not show Andy anywhere so he'll probably play on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be afternoon as I have to be out in the morning. I'll have to record it but it's not quite the same.

They both have to get there first. You can never make ANY assumptions in tennis.  (As Russia found out ) as to the result if they do play well you ever know. Lol
In a sport where nothing is completely for sure, I think Nadal reaching the semi-finals with his draw in a tournament he hasn't lost in since 2003 is as close to a sure-fire thing as you're going to get.

They don't seem to be sticking rigidly to that schedule though - seeds 5-8 are playing 2nd round matches tomorrow

I wonder if it's got anything to do with Djokovic?  Obviously they're going to give him as long as possible to decide whether or not he's fit to play.

You could be right there, Aileen, They're bound to give Novak every opportunity to play - he must be a 'crowd puller'.

Djokovic's playing surprises me and there maybe an element of selfishness on his part. His doctors advised him to rest for up to 10 days., but he is playing MC. Is this because:-

1. He will lose some points, allowing Andy to creep closer to his no1.
2. Knowing that Ferrer had withdrawn and by playing, Andy would be placed in Nadal's half.
3. He may yet withdraw, but the draw has already been made.

Djokovic often resorts to unacceptable gamesmanship. Witness his MTO before Andy's servicing for USO title and other cases when he used MTO to upset his opponent's play.
It does seem a bit odd, and I get the sense that he will be withdrawing, and I have had a grumble to myself that he should have done so before the draw.  Then again, I'll be very happy if Andy makes it to the semi-finals.  Of course, if that does happen and he loses to Rafa, I'll be annoyed again, lol. lol

Well Andy continued playing at RG two years ago after twisting his ankle, and suffering a small ligament tear as well.  Meanwhile reports say an MRI scan of Djoko's ankle showed no evidence of ligament or joint capsule damage and that it's a 'joint structure strain', without any explanation of what that is, so is it serious or isn't it?  All a little strange really.

That attitude is defeatist. If Andy had the same attitude as some of his fans he would not of won half as much as he has. It's quite pathetic that Andy has fans that have him losing before he even steps on court!  Whistle

Yeah this places is full of them unfortunately.

And some people don't see the line between being realistic and being defeatist.
