So Andy gets the toughest draw of the top 4 seeds - no change there then!

I have just checked my TV guide and the Sky Sports Tennis coverage which starts on Thursday, they have now changed from Valencia to Basel. 1pm until 9pm on SS2. Same time and channel on Friday. 2 until 5:30 on Saturday SS3.
Thanks for that information Geo. I was hoping they would switch. I guess they were guessing Andy would go with Valencia, but they said to him after Shanghai they'd go whereever he goes. Can't watch Thursday but hope he'll still be in it Friday. He should be if he plays like he did out East. Like Aileen I think this shows he's feeling good both mentally and physically. Wouldn't it be great if he beat smugfed in his home town eh?

Thankyou Geo, I was keeping an eye out to see if they would but as of lunchtime they hadn't. They've done the draw and Andy plays Robin Haase first and could then meet Wawrinka. See the Swiss tourney website for further details.

I have just checked my programme and it still says Valencia - where were you looking? I'll check on the Sky Sports News website.

Hope Andy carries his recent great form into Basel. A real test and with that draw his game will have to be in good shape. Go on Andy -you can do it!!!

Very tough draw for Andy, especially starting with Haase - with his serve I bet he loves quick conditions like Basel. But if Andy can keep up his form of the last few weeks then he should come through that match without problems. Would love the Andy/Fed semi to happen, with Andy winning!

The website talks about Andy in Basel but don't mention a change. Earlier I went through all the sports channels in the hope that perhaps Eurosport would add it - there's still time, Ruthie and Geo must have seen it somewhere. Fingers crossed!

Much tougher draw than Djoko, if he comes through and wins this one then it will be hard for anyone to say he did not earn it and it would give him huge confidence. For some reaseon I always get worried when I see he is playing Stan, he seems to have difficulty there.

Andy is also in the doubles with Jamie- they open against the 2nd seeds Nestor/Mirnyi. He's got a tough draw in both the singles and doubles.

Me too. I remember a certain Wimbledon match - Andy won but with a fight.

Oh he really is going it a pace. In Shanghai, the commentators seemed to feel that his doubles games were helping to improve his singles by making him more proficient with certain strokes and angles. I'm no expert but I can see how many things may help him here and wonder what others think. I know rest is important to him and perhaps he would get more of it if he didn't play doubles but he must be the judge of how much rest he needs. Only time will tell on this one and, with all the excellent players around, Andy has to do all he can to imprive his game - good luck to him!

My sky schedule on the tv just says ATP tennis - so perhaps they were keeping their options open and gave radio times valencia thinking Andy would play there? I'm sure they can make a late switch and would be crazy not to cover 3 of the top 4 players in the world never mind Andy himself!
While I agree Andy shouldn't wear himself out Jan, I'm one of those who likes to see him play doubles because I think it increases his confidence at the net and I think he could come to the net more as he has 'great hands' as the comms put it. Anyway they'll probably be knocked out first round of the dubs so might just help him play his way into the tourno.

Couldn't agree more about Andy and doubles, Ruthie. I'm sure if he came to the net more often it would add yet another dimension to his game. He is so talented. As for what sky televise - they know what the British public want - have a feeling they will try and put it on somehow. After all that's what we buy Sky coverage for. Otherwise we found some pretty good livestreams in Tokyo and Thailand. I won't be able to watch much on Friday but will record what I can and if he gets through to semis and final I will certainly be watching.

I think he should play competitively as often as he can and at the highest level possible as that is the way he is going to gain the confidence to win the majors. None of us doubt he has the ability but at the final hurdle he seems to lack the self belief he needs to win. I am delighted to see him playing in so many tournaments and playing doubles too and his winning streak shows that this strategy is working well. Come on Andy we are all behind you 100%.
