Starts on Monday, finally back to Europe.

According to the ATP site Roddick, Davydenko, Tsonga, Verdasco, Simon, Monfils and Ferrer are playing, but no sign of Nadal, Djokovic etc.  confused

Basel is happening at the same time. Fed and The Fakervic are playing there, that stupid pony was supposed to be but he's injured his wrist and Piggie isn't playing at all.

A good showing from Muz would be nice - it's been what, two months since the USO? Bit of match practice before London and some points are just what the doctor ordered.

Yeah I saw the entry list on am.com forums but it said he had withdrawn.

I hate the post US Open lull, nobody cares about the tour finals as much and DP, Murray and Federer have barely played since. Plus Nadal has hardly been fit (I mean really) this season since before the French.

Pony and Muz have been injured and Fed has been playing with his kids, so the last couple of months seems really long.

It usually does him the world of good, last year in madrid he played some of the best tennis i've ever seen him play, and that came after a lengthy time out.
It dosen't seem to take him long at all to get back in the groove, he's like federer in that sense.

Well, looks like this tournament is Murray's to win (or lose).  His competition according to the Valencia Website are #'s 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 18, and 22 on the ATP Tour, so none of the top players are around to trouble him.  Considering he has recently been #2, he should be hoisting the trophy at the end of the week without breaking a sweat.  However, if Davydenko comes to play, that may make it a little more exciting.

Yes, that's a real test. Davydenko was class at Shanghai, people forget he has won 4 titles this year!

I am looking forward to the draw.

Davydenko is always there or thereabouts - they don't call him the "Silent Assassin" for nothing ..... (never was a player so well named .... lol )
