Don't think it matters whether it was on jumbovision or not. Djoko would have picked up on it through the way Andy was moving and reacting on court. These guys are tuned to every nuance.

No i don't really like watching losses, but as im starting to get tennis withdrawal symptoms i might give it a watch.

I am not really sad or anything by it, as i know Andy isn't either. I think it was just unfortunate andy couldnt give his best. I genuinely think he and Novak are very evenly matched, and Andy could have won that match had he not been hampered. This is coming from someone who absolutely hates blaming losses on injuries.

The blisters were Andy's fault though in a way he should have put Fed away alot easier than he did. He gift wrapped the 4th set to Fed with a ribbon and a box of chocoloates. These are the things that are gonna make the difference in future. Andy Murray is just Not as ruthless as he needs to be but im sure Lendl will help him to get there.

Andy's body clutching usually happened when he was either losing or frustrated with himself, and that's something he's practically stopped doing, although unfortunately the head banging hasn't. He pulled his hamstring during the Federer match, probably when, to quote one source, he 'mis-stepped' and fell, yet apart from wincing at the time he gave no sign for the rest of the match that anything was amiss, and nor did I see him clutch that leg during the final, yet he said afterwards that it was that which was giving him more discomfort than his foot.

In all fairness to Andy I've never known him to be troubled by blisters before, not even during the USO final, and one of the BBC comms said he thought his shoes were the culprit because in the Federer match he'd noticed him tugging at them a couple of times. Certainly there did seem to be quite a bit of lace tying going on - so could the blisters have been caused by a pair of trainers that weren't quite up to standard? If his feet were sliding around in them, however slightly, that alone would be enough to cause the problem.

It was interesting to read Andy say himself that he should have put Federer away in four. It's one thing to say it though, and another to do it. Federer really shouldn't have won a couple of those points at the end of the fourth. I have to give him credit (through gritted teeth!) and say he did pull some magic out of the bag, and then he was confident in the tie-break. Maybe Andy got a bit distracted by Federer taking the wee-wee too. Andy will learn from it though, and next time will be different.

I can't remember, but I do think I saw Andy clutch the injured leg a couple of times in the final, quite late on. Late in the final he certainly wasn't moving as well as he had in the semi, but how much of that was the injury and how much was fatigue is hard to judge I suppose.

I have to say that I always thought Andy's body clutching was blown out of all proportion. I understand the point about sending messages out to an opponent, that sort of thing, but to my mind they all do strange things under pressure. I don't think you'll ever see Andy show absolutely no reactions, although I have to say I was glad when he stopped drawing blood with the racquet strings, in fact one of the reasons I like Andy so much is that he is animated. However, the key, at least I think, is not that he gets worked up, although that happens less now, but what happens after. In the past he could dwell on errors for points at a time, even a game or two. Now he doesn't. As a result he is calmer, appears to think more clearly, and it does help him.

I stopped watching first break of the 4th set.....not just coz im a crap loser...which i am...but coz I just didnt think it was a 100% healthy Andy playing his best...and so the reult was only going one way from if not the second set tie break..then early third set.

I dont need to watch it again ...i felt it was pretty obvious when it went pear shaped and why.

Yup...the TV cameras showed Djoko doing a stretch routine whilst paying attention to the extent of Andy's injuries during the medical time out. Of course...those moments affect the outcome...I really dont know why people deny that. If it had been the other way around and Djoko was struggling from injury id say the exact same thing. Anyone could tell the crowd were thinking the same from that point...it became very subdued.

If Andy or his team had came out and said his injuries affected the result....we all know the media would have been all over that like flies on a turd....hence his team did the correct PR job and denied that impacted the result and just took it on the chin.

I have just watched the Federer match again as sometimes you see things when you know the result that you have not noticed live. I did see Andy messing with his shoe numerous times. I had also notice it a few times in his previous matches. Perhaps he ought to do something about the style of shoe!

I had forgotten how many fabulous shots he had. They were mindboggling.

I thought I had read somewhere that one of his team did mention his hamstring may have been a problem.

As far as the crowd went even the comms said they were too subdued for a final. After all they'd come along expecting a thrilling 4 or 5 setter, and then after the first two sets that was it. Nobody gets any pleasure from watching an uneven contest when one of the players is carrying an injury.
