Excuse me, but I think most of us did realise why Andy was struggling - and now we know about the wind making life difficult.
I don't see how wind can trouble Andy when he's played in far windy condition and against much better players. He's probably just looking for excuses for not showing up 100% and taking Berankis too lightly.

Andy Murray - Olympic and USO champion! :)
|
Tough match - Andy did very well to win in straight sets. Berankis has got a good game - hopehe can progress in the rankings this year.

I guess it's easy to sidewalk supervise, I guess if Andy said the wind was bothering him, it may have been.....I don't think he is a guy who looks for excuses.

I know he's played in windier conditions - in a gale even at the USO - but it seemed to be coming in sudden gusts, and even the comms mentioned it. I didn't get the impression that Andy was using it as an excuse.

It's amazing that I was too cold to get out of bed and watch on TV, yet following on live score and on here still produced the same rise in blood pressure, nerves etc.
Phew! On wards and upwards!!
P.s anyone have a video of this match so I can relive the MurrayCoaster at a reasonable hour??

Not playing great, but serving well. And Berankis was playing a lot of superb tennis. I think we'll see a lot more of him now.

He was more than struggling with the wind Aileen, he came out for the game in a bad place. I really felt that this match could have gone very badly for him.
