The Federer mind games begin....................

Roger Federer believes his recent experiences of playing Andy Murray will help when they meet in their night-time Australian Open semi-final on Friday.

The Swiss was taken to five sets by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga but prevailed 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 3-6 6-3 while Murray swiftly beat Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-4 6-1 6-2 to make the final four.

Federer says the Scot is playing "more offensive" tennis since winning the US Open and Olympic gold, and expects a "tough" clash in Melbourne.

I see that Jo-Wilfred has tipped Andy to win the championship - love that man  hug

Also seen the stats for the amount of time spent on court of the 4 semi-finalists: Andy - 8hr 55; smug - 10hrs 47; nole - 13hr 6; ferrer - 12hrs 19.  Of course the Andy detractors will say he's had the easiest run but you can only play who is in front of you and the fact is that delpo had been tipped as an outside contender yet fell to Chardy who crumbled in the face of Andy's superior play.  yay

Federer always seems to raise his level against Murray in slams, even if he's played badly in the previous round. When he does, Murray doesn't seem able to respond.

With that in mind, Federer in four. Hopefully I'll be wrong...
