Am guessing this could be a night match to give Gicquel more recovery time. These two met at Rotterdam last year with Gicquel retiring

Just heard John Lloyd say that Andy will be on BBC2 at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Watching Gasquet v Youzney on the red button.

Tomic/Cilic on center for nationalist reasons and Del Potro/Blake is the bigger match, so him getting dumped out on a smaller court isn't illogical.

TBH if I had a ticket for Rod Laver for tomorrow night I'd be pretty disappointed. I had a ticket last year for a Rod Laver session that had both Tomic and Dokic and I was more than disappointed I was furious. Apart from the cost and knowing I'd probably have to work I didn't buy any tickets this year.
But I'll go tomorrow and have a great day on the outside courts then watch Andy for the twilight match. MCA is my favourite court at the AO.

I was hoping for a 3am start again, because I'm flying into the UK tonight! Get in late. Would have been easier to stay up and watch than get up at 8am!

I will be travelling up to Auckland ready for my flight first thing Thursday morning (Wednesday tea time UK time)
Have they played one another before?
It would appear that they have met once - Rotterdam 2009 - Andy won 7-6(2), 4-6, 3-0 RET

I'll only get to see the warm up and first few games but then I've got school.
Should get it on the replay later though.

Draw opening up ahead of Andy then, Melzer might have been a banana-skin if he had turned up.
