I'm more worried about this that I would have been had it been Rafa. Still, i'm sure Murray would have bitten your hand off at the start of the tournie to be 1 match away from the final with only Ferrer standing in his way.

Ferrer has only ever beaten murray on clay, and last time these two played, murray pretty much owned him at the O2. Stillf Ferrer is looking in fine form, only dropping two sets to get to this stage. I'm nervous about this one

Would have preffered Nadal actually. It would have been huge for Murray's confidence and aura going into the final on the back of ending Nadals run. But still, what a chance he's got now!

All 3 wins for Ferrer on clay, the last two being in Madrid and Rome last year when Murray was in his post-AO slump.

I'm confident here and glad that it's not Rafa - I couldn't realistically envisage the final if he had been the opponent. That said, Murray will have to be very very focussed as Ferrer is certainly no slouch and as consistent as anyone in the rallies.

Murray in 4, then a final against Djokovic. cmon yeah

Yes never underestimate the terrior but Andy has all the weapons to beat him on hard court.   Could be a long match though with lots of grinding rallies.
Really pissed off that I've agreed to go up to Newcastle for work that morning so won't be able to watch - but then again he plays better when I'm not watching after all!! cmonandy

Nah! Don't say that Ruthie! After all, you can't send good vibes to a recording, can you? Mind you....I should talk.....I'm just as bad, only I'm scared to take my off him to go to the loo 'coz I think he'll do something silly while I'm away! And today, I actually thought he was playing badly 'cos he'd had a shave after reading my remark about the 'badger's bum' he had on his face!

Are you? I'm delighted.

Rafa is a nine time grand slam champion, and has bucketloads of experience at this level. This is only Ferrer's 2nd grand slam semi final.

Ferrer is having a superb 2011 so far, but if Andy can serve well, I think he'll progress to his third grand slam final. Ferrer's serve is pretty tame, I'd like to think Andy will create plenty of break point opportunities.

Murray in 4.

My wife has booked us a weekend away in a hotel that doesn't even have a bloody RED BUTTON! I actually phoned reception to check: 'Do you have a red button?' 'I'm sorry, sir?'

Should make my match reports a challenge.

The cigar is primed. It hasn't moved from my bedside chest of drawers since the US Open final of 2008.

Good memory!
