I knew this one would cause anxiety as soon as The draw was announced. How soon people forget that Andy has beaten Berdych twice this year, both of them on hard, and one of those was best of three, the other on the way to winning the USO, so if Andy comes out motivated and ready, which he will, he can do it.
Berdych, to my mind, is up and down like a tart's knickers. When he is good he's very good, but when he's bad, well, I'll say no more.
Did anyone notice Berdych didn't get out of his pram in Paris? He didn't even get nasty when he was arguing over a disputed call the other day - for once he had a point too. He walked away from the umpire when
he
was arguing. It was most unusual, and made him seem nicer. That's nothing to do with anything. You know me, I ramble lol.
My take on this one? Andy will have great support and will be up for the challenge. Andy, maybe in three, but could even be straight sets. I'd like straight sets. My nerves get too frazzled without my voice to yell at the TV in longer matches. Stupid throat!

Probably because he wanted to lose anyway.

That was certainly the impression I got - never saw anyone beam like that when they lost before

I wish for Andy a good percentage of first serves. That given he returns better than the Birdman and certainly has a better whole court play and movement. For me Andy in 2 - and hopefully that will set the tone for the week.

Andy will indeed have to server his very best. That will be the key. He also needs to stay very, very focused and never once can he afford to lose it. And also, he'll need to put as much as pressure as possible on Berdych's serve by returning very well, so not to give him any chance to get even a bit comfortable. I'd like him to go for the returns. It pays off most of the time especially if he's on. Of course, most of all, I'd like him to stay healthy. Who can forget last year.
Let's go, Andy. Best of luck. You can do it.

Very conveniently I have a 'reading week' this week so have the whole week off. The department head must be a tennis fan.

Next year I feel I'll be able to work from home from time to time, as we have just rolled out a project re: flexible hours and the main purpose of it is to allow people work from home more and more in the future. A lot already do but this will allow just about any employee even the part-time ones. Needless to say I am very, very excited about the whole thing!

I'm sure you do though
I can access our server from home but wouldn't help me since most of the paperwork I need is at work

Well, I do hope that happens soon - go paperless.
My job is fantastic because it's all paperless as all my documents are on the Document Centre (common/shared drive with different type of security assigned individually as per the different needs) and I work directly from there. And if I have meetings, then I can always use my personal drive to access all the documents and upload them on to projectors directly. I really think that one day we will be almost paperless and most people will be able to work from home in the future.
