WTF RR: Murray vs Djokovic

Quote

I'd be very surprised if Berdych lost to Tsonga. It's out of Murray's hands once again.

In what way is it out of Murray's hands? We want Berdych to win.

I couldn't watch it, but peeked at scores - looked like a very hard fought match from both sides, as is to be expected from these two.

Sir Panda, I agree!

Could it come down to games and sets again? Urgh.

this has been a terrible disgusting tournament.     pathetic match.    WTA >  ATP

If he's not careful he's going to have a moronic loss at the AO.

Isn't Tsonga 1-13 against top 10 players this year?

I'd like him to win but it doesn't look good.

Tsonga's fallen away this year, and he'll lose lots of points here. To me, his whole game is built around protecting his weak backhand. You can only do that for so long.

I'm worried about this as well.

2009 was awful when Andy went out on games won and lost after Fed and Delpo just happened to play out the exact scoreline that meant they both got through.

I wish Yamor was here.

Any kind soul able to list the permutations from tonight's match and how it affects Murray?

On reflection though.... there is sooo little between Djoko and Muzza...yet again the winner could just have easily been the loser.

The only worrying thing for Murray lately has been his inabilty to finish off matches when he gets the opportunity and he has done the hard bit and shifted momentum. His team need to work on that I reckon. That said.... we as fans are perhaps being too hard on him.... historically all players struggle for a period after their 1st slam win.

Nope, we want Tsonga to win!

thats because  he always chokes.  as per normal.     so predictable

Tsonga isn't going to win. I suspect what's going to happen is Berdych will thrash him in two, and then Novak will tank the third match.

Berdych and Novak to advance, Murray to fail to make an impact once again.

John, if you haven't seen the match, I would say you're being very unfair.

Well I thought Andy was brilliant in the first set. He played poorly in the second but did make a big effort in the third but lost. I hope he gets through as his scores are good and he has not lost by much. I guess I'm a optimist I hope he manages to get through. The match could have gone either way.
