Australian Open 2014 QF: Andy Murray vs Roger Federer

I think S Club 7 was better. Or maybe:

This suits Fed well Very Happy

You took the words out of my mouth. Berdych should also adopt it as a theme song.

OMG YES YES YES, my favourite piece of music from Who.

I knew it! Yes, I have to agree, mine too. Funny though, every time I hear it I see Andy's tennis. Wonder if Murray Gold is a fan...... Whistle

Berdych can have this theme:

I'm going for Andy in 4 sets against Roger. But it would not surprise me if Roger won he's playing well.as much as it pains me to say it.
I will be interested see how Federers mind games play up to and during this match.  This is way bigger for him than for Andy I feel, despite or perhaps because of,  past his QF record here. I'm going for Andy in 4 too.

Really hope that Andy comes out with his own strong gameplan that will counter Fed's forays to the net and his use of 'chip and charge' - 'the Edberg-effect' - as the comms never ceased droning on about during the Tsonga match.

I so want Andy to win. Have got everything crossed for him.

A disturbing statistic for Murray fans. Federer is 10-0 in Australian Open quarter-finals.
Streaks are mean't to be broken. I would love for Andy to Fedal Djokovic combo!

Finding this one tough to call, Federer is suffering from new coach syndrome, his confidence will be sky high from beating Tsonga so convincingly. Under normal circumstances i would say that wouldn't be enough to bother Andy but these are not normal circumstances.

I can see a tough 4-5 set match, it all depends on wether Andy can play with some consistency, i think he's done brilliant to get this far in his 1st slam back so his confidence will also be high, it might allow him to play with little pressure from now on.

Gah i usually vote but can't call it, my heart says Andy in 4 but my head says either Fed or Andy in 5.

And if it does go to 5, Rafa will be laughing over his cornflakes.

I highly doubt this will be a day session

Why? Dimitrova vs Nadal is also a massive draw.

We gonna see.

Murray goes into this match the underdog. That's for sure. Too close to predict, for me.

Andy steps up his game when he plays Roger, Rafa, or Novak. Hope he can finish Roger in a maximum of 4 sets.

As it's probably going to be the evening match I will probably miss it. And when I have to follow Murray by text commentary, he always seems to lose. Last three matches I followed via text was Mayer, Wawrinka and Berdych.

So on that evidently sound logic, I foresee Federer winning in 4.

As I did not see Fed play this morning, I cannot really judge if it was him who played so well or Tsonga who could not bring his A game. The voices on MW seem divided. What I can definitely say though is that I am already a bundle of nerves not wanting Fed to beat Andy.

I would go as far as to say this is the first 50-50 match I've ever come across. They are both playing around the same level, its going to be extremely tough. Lets hope it produces on the day.
