Hahaha well obviously, but why only Wimbledon?  Is it cos we is British and we want long matches? or because we "invented" the sport we made the rules then the other slams followed but didnt keep that bit?

I wondered why that was, but then realised its only at Wimbledon that the doubles (men) are best of 5 - I still dont actually know why though

Because slams are becoming disrespectful to doubles. I know Wimbledon is OTT with keeping tradition, but at least it retains the BO5 in doubles, that's one of the only good things.

Doubles is an extremely fun format but is being ruined by slam directors and stuck up TV directors who care more about there next episode of Mike and Molly then they do about a good fun game of doubles.

I agree. I think the AO is the best for doubles coverage, I think there's been quite a lot this year.

5live is now on FM?

I thought it was still MW
It is during the day but switches to FM during the night when local radio is off air ( 0100-0600 approx )which is great for insomniacs like me on my Walkman who don't want to disturb the household.

Aileen the doubles matches are best of 3.
I know that Proddy, but still think Andy's match could be a wee bit later in starting, especially as the women's singles has the potential to go to three.

Jankovic vs Halep won't go to three.

OK so I know f-all about women's tennis, but their last matches have gone to three, so why would be this any different?  Certainly an analysis of the match gives Halep a slight edge because of her recent good form but at the same time a tight match isn't ruled out.  Also I used the word 'potential'.  I didn't say it would go to three.

Halep is playing miles better than Jelena, I think Halep will take it pretty easily.

Whatever ...  but like I said earlier it seems the one certainty is that this match won't start before 5:30am, and that's the main thing.
