Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Andy beat him in Davis Cup 2009 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 .
I did wonder why his name sounded a bit famililar, and that being the case then I have seen him playing before, only I don't remember what he was like. Also that was the infamous DC tie Lloyd coerced Andy into playing even although he had a wrist injury (which he then aggravated and was out for weeks) and which GB lost - Murray/Hutchins losing the doubles and the inexperienced Dan Evans the 5th and deciding rubber.

Raonic is out...
Raonic won 2-1, taking the 3rd set 6-3.

Well Raonic may be safe but hey what about Djokovic losing against Querrey, especially after being bageled in the first set

The thinking here is that (a) Djokovic had been suffering from a tummy bug, which could have caused the sudden slump, and (b) that his father is quite seriously ill in hospital and so his mind may not have been 100% focussed on the match. Of course if you believe some, Djoko tanked .....

Right, H2H below but what's been up with Jerzy? Only played 30 games according to the stats.

ATP tour site gives very little information:-
Started playing tennis aged five with his parents, who played tennis for fun…Father, Jerzy, and mother, Anna Szalbot, were both professional volleyball players…Idol growing up was Pete Sampras…Likes all surfaces and favourite shot is forehand…Hobbies include computers and computer games…Considers himself very skilled with computers in general…
My guess is that there's something wrong with those ytd figures
It's alright, I'm talking pish! Plays on the challenger circuit! Genius!

Also I notice that 3 out of his 4 wins there have been on clay.
Anyway your pics are great. I love what I always call Andy's werewolf look - very appropriate for Halloween.

Another of these huge massive servers. Bah
Andy can usually deal with them, and the taller the better - and Jerzy is 6"8'. Just hope his own serve is firing.

I google the opponent first and see what I get then google something appropriate for Andy.
As you can see, it's a finely tuned skill.

Love the pics Bev! As Aileen says, very Halloweenish!

To be fair to Nole does sound like his father has been seriously ill so not surprising if his mind was elsewhere. I think his father may have come through worst though. But given he's clearly tired losing is certainly a blessing in disguise going into WTF.
If Andy is going to go deep into this tournament I hope he can do it quickly and efficiently so as not to use up too much energy before next week. Does sound as if he's fresh though and that his serve is back on song, from the match report, which suggests the pilates is doing its job.
