Yes Elly stay we are all different but that is what makes murraysworld I know people disagree about a lot of things. I have been in the same position but I chose to ignore it. Life is too short and the one thing that bring us together is our love of Andy and his great tennis. I expect you to post on the AO as the majority of us will.I will expect to see your posts so come on.

Well I think it is rather unfair to say that it was the new members fault for driving out the old and turning it into a tennis forum.
If you're referring to my post, then that was not what I was intending to say.  Nobody "drove" the longer-term members out or deliberately tried to turn it into a tennis forum - and as BBH said there are still plenty of threads around where these members can still socialise if they want to - this was just something that happened naturally.  After all, nothing stays the same forever.  Also it seems to me that there are considerably more older members (age-wise that is) now than there were when I first joined. In fact I'd have joined a lot sooner but was put off by the fact that the greater majority of members were obviously young enough to be my children, if not my grandchildren.  I finally plucked up the courage because I'd been a staunch Andy supporter ever since I first saw him at Queens and Wimbledon in 2005 and had found am.com stifling because everything was so strictly monitored it was like being back at school!

But I agree with you all, egos around here can be quite - whats the word? - demoralising?
Unfortunately you're going to get a clash of egos in every walk of society, and MW is no exception, although perhaps some of us would be a little less egoistical were we to meet each other in person.  The anonimity that these forums provide is a great thing to hide behind.

John, whilst I don't entirely agree that this was an argument over nothing, an awful lot of adults' petty squabbles are over trivialities.  I guess it's the child in us coming out. Smile

I'm just pissed off at the egos that appear to be on here now.  This forum used to be fun.  When it gets like it's draining your soul - time to say cheerio.

Guess you’d better direct me to the assholes so that I can carry out my usual demolition job, which you might find amusing.

Trust me - I'll be no loss!

I'll be honest, George, I'll probably sneak a peek at Chapter 14!  Frown

Gee. Thank goodness. It’s pretty hilarious. I’m just polishing it up. I can’t believe how hilarious it is. It’s got me in stitches.

This forum used to be fun?  Yes it was so much fun that twice I came very close to leaving it. Rolling Eyes  I don't feel like that now though, so I guess it depends on what your idea of 'fun' is.

I suspect that most of the full time lurkers and occasional posters - like me - have no idea what this vitriol is all about.

I thought we were here to discuss Andy Murray and his brilliant tennis career?

I'm sure there are forums for psycho-babbling soul searching, but I'll stick with the tennis, thanks!
