Andy won his QF against Istomin in straight sets (6-4,7-6[3]). He is now set to play Nishikori in the SFs, who defeated Dolgopolov earlier today, with the exact same scoreline.

H2H is 2-0 for Andy btw, both straight-set-victories on hard court (Shanghai SF 2011; AO QF 2012).

Both very straightforward wins as well. I think this will be somewhat tougher though.

Nishikori is a similar player to Murray, and can be quite unpredictable. Murray will have to be on his game.

Andy and Kei are the only seeds left!  Hopefully tomorrow's match will go with ranking.

As an aside, Scottish breakfast news are reporting that Andy will be playing Ken Nishikori tomorrow.  poster_oops

Nishikori had a very good late season in 2012, he has won two ATP titles, but I'm sure Andy and his team are well aware if this. Also his playing style will be well known by Andy's team, unlike his last two apponents whom he had never played before!

This match is 2nd on court with play starting at 2am GMT, so will be later. That may effect your decision.

I might catch the first few games. I normally stay up that late but with school looming, I doubt I will for much longer.

Thanks for that - thought it might be one of those "two Andy matches in one wake" situations i've been reading about - but probably not.

Nice to get your H2H on the front page of match thread too - have to be quick about it these days! Great pics as always, and hope we'll be smiling and Kei will be applauding tomorrow. Thanks
